Is there a way to check the forks to see if there is the right amount of oil in them? Or do you have to drain them and add new fork oil and if so how much do you add?

best thing to do is go to your local yamaha shop and get in the yz85 service manuel and it will tell you everything you need to know about oil amount and what levels
