XR80 Rear Shock

Will a 1980s CR80 rear shocks fit onto an 1980 XR80 without having to modify anything?

Re: XR80 Rear Shock

You can use xr75 shocks from 1977-1978 or xr80 shocks from 1979-1984.

Re: XR80 Rear Shock

I want to upgrade my shocks or thicker springs. Suspension bottoms out too easy.

Re: XR80 Rear Shock

Takegawa makes shocks that will fit the bike that are stiffer and maybe an inch longer. I have a pair on one of my bikes and they look and perform well.

Re: XR80 Rear Shock

Do you know how well they work? I am about 170 lbs so I need something that can support that?

They work well, I'm 175lbs myself and they handle my weight well. I don't do any motocross or anything but they should hold up a good amount of abuse. They are much stiffer than the stock shocks and they look pretty good also.
