XR80 Big Bore

I am going to rebuild my 2001 xr80, Was thinking that I would put a new piston and rings in. Why not just go with a bigger piston? I have read that I can have the stock cylinder bored out big enough to accept a piston that would make my bike 95cc. Does anyone have an extra cylinder for a XR/CRF80 I could buy? Then I could send it out to get bored, and that way I could do the swap without any down time for my bike.

Thanks, Gary

Yes, you have a cylinder? If so how much would it be? Do you do that kind of work? (cylinder boring) I am thinking if you do maybe I can do some type of buy/exchange. You could send, and bill me for a bored cylinder with a piston kit. then once I get mine off I will send it to you for a credit.

Thanks, Gary

Yes, I have a used 80 jug I'd sell for $30. Bore job from the local guy is $45-ish to go that far over. You can mail the piston to him, and I can drop the jug off. He'd ship it back to you.

Powroll's about it for the 95cc piston. They're pretty proud of the sucker... Buy it from them and have it shipped to the machinist.
