XR/CR Wheels? I know the newer 90's XR 100/80/70 with swap wheels along with the CRF's. I also read somewhere that the early to mid 1980's CR 80 front and rear wheels will work, as well? If so, what years? Along with the mid 1980's forks with the disc brake? I'v been thinking about a new project with the spare 95 XR 100 roller I have. I Wish to run a 17/14" or 16/14" XR/CRF 80 and/or CR 80 wheel combo. Thanks in advance

Re: XR/CR Wheels? The 1986 CR80 (Disk Brake model) forks, wheel, and triple clamps will go onto a 1981-2003 XR/CRF 80-100 with no modification. For the rear, a 1982-1983 CR80 wheel will work. The rear wheel is also a direct bolt on (brake shoes are panels are the same as XR's). Both of the wheels off the models listed are aluminum and can be found on eBay. Here is a picture of a bike with a 1986 front end (from kc_450_x on thumpertalk). ![]() ![]() Last edited by honda_xrs85; 08-07-2008 at 09:15 PM.

Re: XR/CR Wheels? Oh, I forgot to add that the 1986 front end has tapered steering stem bearings so you would have to change the bearing style in order for it to work. The 1982-1983 CR80 front end will work but it is still drum brake.
