| Re: Please Help I would guess a new coil from suzuki would be $30-$50. Have you tried checking the spark with a tester like they sell in autoparts stores? It plugs on to your plug cap and then you ground it with a wire and kick the bike over. The tester is only $5 and will tell you if you are getting good spark or not. It would be strange to get good spark when you tow it, but then to have it cut out a few minutes later. I would also pull the float bowl of the carb and also check the needle. You might have a clip the fell off the needle or a loose jet or debris in the bowl. Other things to check would be valve clearance and any air leaks around the carb or airbox/filter. When valves wear out it makes the bike hard to start and if it runs it doesn't run very well. This happened to my buddies bike when the airfilter tore and it sucked dirt. The dirt wore out the valves and it was very hard to start, but it would run badly for a few minutes. |
