Need a crank for a XR100

Alright, I'm building a "monster" XR100/ CR85 bike. I bored it to a 120, have a fresh tranmission it it, working on the exhaust, working on oversized valves, but now am running into a problem. I need a crank.

I need a GOOD crank, no oem. From what I've been told the oem one won't last well once the engine is finished (due to the larger displacement and extra power). I checked hotrods and BBR, no luck. Powroll doesn't seem to have them and I am not buying oem. Does anyone know where to get a good crank/rod for a XR80/100???

Tak, Kitaco, ShiftUp are about it. The stocker is fine in my 120 though. I lightened it over a pound, to less than the 80 crank. Unless you have a good head, it won't rev high enough or make enough power to hurt itself. Powroll is a rebuilt stocker with added stroke.

Completely re-designed head with oversized valves. This thing is going to fry a stock crank.

stock will be fine. 120 no matter how crazy wont put out the numbers to fry that crank. my 120 (head, cam, blah) has been perfect with over 15,000 street and dirt miles. ridden by mike healy at langstown and all sorts of semi pro's. i think its safe to say use stock!

Alright... looks like I have to try stock but I still think there has to be a better crank out there. The stock one is flimsy and I'm told I'll have to get one once a year.

Oh well, cases only last a couple years anyways... :P

i think differently. my motor is still running and it has been in a cr80 conversion its whole life that is also titled. like i said if my built 120 has lasted 15,000 miles on the stock cases, crank, oil pump you wont have to worry. like firepower said if you want better just cut it down.

Re: Need a crank for a XR100

Well that's re-assuring. Maybe my parts will last longer than I thought. I guess only way to find out for sure!

yep. post up some pics. I loved the xr/cr85 conversion we had. too bad my kids grades tanked or we'd still be playing on that one.

Re: Need a crank for a XR100

The stock 100 has a 26mm pin and a pretty beefy rod. Unless the stamped sling gets full of crap, it should last forever.

How'd you find room for much more than 1-1.5mm larger valves? They're pretty close together.
