Which method you guys uses to tightening the clutch nut of the yx150 and give it the 60n/meter torque value requested?
Impact wrench or dyno wrench? it spin and spin...how you block it?

Not sure I got it up to the right torque but I just gave it a couple quick hits with a 1/2" electric impact gun. Red locktite as well of course. Same with the oil slinger nut. Mine was loose too. I could turn it off with just a ratchet and little effort.

no, mostly likely the slinger nut and the clutch nut are different sizes, so make sure to have the tool that has both sizes.

Re: YX150 clutch nut tightening....

The only part that might come off is when taking the cover off there is a washer between the cover and the kickstart shaft. Other then that, its pretty self explanitory what to take off etc.

Ok cool. Sounds pretty simple really. Im going to pick up some good locktight tonight. And i have done the penny in the gears thing before on an old trail 90, but i iscovered that if you have an old tire laying around, take some tinsnips or some metal shears and cut off some of the sidewall and put that in there instead. It wont damage any of the gears and the right size piece wont let the gears turn.

It takes a special socket to tighten it down....call up Vince at TBolt USA he will hook u up and has the socket that has the clutch nut on one side and the oil slinger on the other,be sure and ck both even if its a brand new motor i had both nuts almost fall off before so it does happen plus everyone should have one of them in there toolbox

Yeah i found the tool, its just that i really hate waiting for things to be shipped. I guess i will order one though, i hear its the same as a 50/70..... something my local cycle shop might have in stock. What does the oil slinger do? it looks weird, and i don't see the nut on that at all.

FIRST
before i start ,the yx 150 is like any our motorcycle engine
you must keep it up to have it perform at its best
some engine require more time spent on certian areas
(like an 85 ,you need to change rings quite often )

the nut is inside ,after you pull the 4 phillips screws off

the slinger acts as a ballencer and it separates heavy debris from the oil
so please check it from when you change oil ,if you find small black rubber pieces clean it out and your clutch basket is starting to go

check you oil screen and a magnetic drain bolt will also help

we have the clutch tools and clutch parts here in stock
we ship priority mail usps 2-3 days anywere in the usa
