What Carby should I use for my Lifan 150 ?

Hay all,

I've just got myself a Lifan 150 motor and I would like to know what carby you guys would recommend I use on it ??

I was thinking the OKO 28mm flatslide but I thought I'd ask around and get some opinions from people that have the motor and have tried different carbs on it !!

Cheers

Re: What Carby should I use for my Lifan 150 ?

I have the motovert pro with the lifan 150 in it and it comes stock with the mikuni vm 24mm carb and I like it, lots of power. My buddy Onlydirt on here has the same bike with the same engine in it and he swapped his 24 mikuni for the 28mm OKO and he said it didn't make a lot of difference, he just noticed it on the top end.

Hope that helps.

run the one it came with. If you don't like that, I say the VM26 606 Vince is talking about as your best bet.

i myself like the tm series they are a pain in the ass to jet but once jetted correctly the throttle response is second to none. i run the 28mm

Re: What Carby should I use for my Lifan 150 ?

Thanks for the replies guy, Much appreciated !!!

My lifan 150 didn't come with a carby!!!

I have the standard 25mm mikuni that came on my Lifan 140cc in my MSO but after about 2min the first 4 inches started to glow red !! so I shut if off... So obviously it needs jetting and I think that a 25mm carb is to small...

I think I'll go with the OKO 26mm carb and jet that correctly..

Anyone got any idears on a good starting point for the jetting??

Yup. Unless you port the head and add bigger valves, 26mm is plenty of carb. VM26 is easy to tune, find jets for, and has much higher quality than the Chinese clones.

I have a 26 on my SDG 107 (Crower cam, AHP hi-comp piston, IRK) it seems to run fine. Does not puke black smoke and revs to the moon (IRK) I think it could have better low end with a smaller carb and no irk but
