OGM150....still problem solving. First, I want to say extreme thanks to Vince@Tbolt........he is the one who has been giving me parts to try just to get my bike running.....spent hours on the phone bsin etc. Anyways, 08 ogm 150sx.....pretty much elim inated the ignition as being the problem. Tried two different IRK(Chinese and Kitaco) and now a stock flywheel ignition. Bike does the same thing. I adjusted the valves too. It starts first kick. Runs fine at 1/4 throttle or less. Then, once it hits any other point in the power band it chokes. It will pull past with very gentle throttle movement but for the most part it has nothing above 1/4 throttle. Carb is chinese Mikuni(second one now)have tried jetting from 17.5 pilot to 27.5 and mains from 95-120.....it's running almost identical there. Lately I have heard of people using the needle from a Molkt carb with the chinese mikuni. Anyone else have any ideas? It's stupid how difficult this bike is being. If anyone else wants to trade me for this bike or buy it at a discount please let me know. Dave

Re: OGM150....still problem solving. You sure the keyway on the crank is cut in the right position? I bet your timing is way advanced because the keyway is cut wrong on the crank.

The problem that he is having with that Fakuni is the needle is wrong, you need to get a needle out of a Molkt carb . | |

Re: OGM150....still problem solving. We tried 4 differnt carbS that ran on other similar bikes and none of them ran. Your timing is too far advanced. Do you want me to show you the cranks that are broke in half, would be hard to tell if it was keyed wrong huh.lol. Ignition issues allways act like carb problems. A FEW MEMBERS ON HERE ARE MY WITNESSES.

Re: OGM150....still problem solving. I can I tell if the crank is keyed right?I adjusted the valves when the piston was at tdc but did it by feel and the marks on the cam sprocket. What is the proper method......there is an "F" and a "T" on the flywheel and then there is a notch on the case at around 12 o'clock and one at 9 o'clock. Where can I get this Molkt needle at? Thanks again everyone. Dave

Re: OGM150....still problem solving. I second that, Vince has just been the guy bending over backwards to help me get it working. I wish I could sell it back to the dealer as a Lemon or atleast get a replacement. Dave

Re: OGM150....still problem solving. +1 this is a prime example why you DONT buy bikes from companies that are in it for a quick $ AND DONT GIVE A SHI$ AFTER THEY SELL YA THE BIKE. OGM SHOULD HAVE SENT YOU AN ENGINE A MONTH AGO.

| Re: OGM150....still problem solving. Pull the spark plug, stick a screwdriver in, and SLOWLY rotate the flywheel. You'll be able to feel the piston push the screw driver up, and once you roll past TDC, you'll be able to push the screwdriver back in as the piston drops. Roll to the T mark on the flywheel, and then slowly work the flywheel back and forth, feeling what's going on with the screwdriver, and stop when the screwdriver is pushed out the furthest, such that moving the flywheel either way from that spot makes it want to go back in. Now you're at true TDC, and if the flywheel key is off, the timing mark on the flywheel will be way off.

Re: OGM150....still problem solving. I think its great that people people are trying to help figure out the problem and get this bike running after all that is what this site is all about, but its absolutely ridiculous that he has to put all this effort into trying to ride a brand new bike.

Re: OGM150....still problem solving. I can't imagine that I am the first person having this problem. Aren't these bikes made in "batches"? Seriously Vince, Pax, Matt all you guys on here have ben the biggest help., I just wish I would get a replacement motor or someting. It's obviously a lemon. If there are known problems with this motor the distributor should be at the bare minimum "retrofitting" them with parts that work. Which notch in the case do I go by? The one at the base of the cylinder or the one at 12 o'clock just over the flywheel? Dave
