| GPX177 V2 Disappointment Well, I never thought I'd actually write this, but compared to my Jialing 157 setup 57 bore and 61.5 stroke, I have to say that the GPX177 V2 is a bit of a disappointment. I was expecting a significant power increase over this Jialing motor configuration...better acceleration, more grunt...but it is just not the case. My Jialing motor appears to outperform this on both acceleration and low level grunt. I have not done high-speed stuff yet, so that remains to be seen. I also ran my Jialing with a Mikuni VM26 carb and this GPX is using the TB28. Do you think that is imparing it at all? I guess I'll give it some time to see what happens. But I just thought I'd vent a little... I think that once I get it broken in and I get my vintage racer built, I am going to go to a Dyno and have some pulls and see if it is true or if it is all in my head. |

| Re: GPX177 V2 Disappointment try a 100 main. 177v2 ported head, runs like a raped ape. 50 pilot 100main tb 28. 800ft above sea level. more than likely your clutch is allready gone. we blew sams in 2 mins of riding, call pax and get the kevlars. wheelies in 3rd gear with 17/39 gearing. These are the jets I have and looks like I have the same setup as you. ANd I am about 300 ft above sea level. I'll try the 100 and see... | |

| Re: GPX177 V2 Disappointment I have one too. Wouldnt even run with the stock carb (Molktft). I put a Mikuni on and it ran ok, but was pretty unimpressed with the power. I expected at least a torquey low end but it was just kind of lame everywhere. |

| Re: GPX177 V2 Disappointment THis CT70 has 10" wheels, but it is 120/90-10 which is the same diameter as a 120/70-12 or so. I have not gone on it enough to burn through clutches yet, but I assume that will be a problem. I'm just breaking it in real easy right now and will update to the kevlars for sure. |

After I get a new exhaust on it, I'll put some miles on it and we'll see what's going on. | |
