Chain slider for Pitster/OGM Has anyone found a substitute chain slider for the X4/OGM sx/motovert/thumpstar swingarms? I lost mine a couple days ago and I was going to go to the local salvage yard and see if anything else could be adapted while I wait for one in the mail (which might take a few, since everyone is in Vegas) So has anyone adapted one from a commonly available bike like a YZ or KX or CR??

Re: Chain slider for Pitster/OGM Buy a thin teflon cutting board from a discount store, cut out a strip and use a heat gun to form it around the swingarm. When you put it on use rivets (3/16 big heads) instead of the factory screws. The factory screws don't work very well and usually end up falling out.

Re: Chain slider for Pitster/OGM Thanks for the reply. I bought some cutting board for my other bike, but it is way too thick for this application. Where do you find the thin stuff?

| Re: Chain slider for Pitster/OGM Well, I tried the really thin cutting board and it didn't work for $h|t. I am going to take the swingarm to a place that has a bunch of dirt bikes in the back and see if any of them have sliders that can be modified to work. Sigh! sometimes I do get tired of the chinese thing. I talked to Tbolt and he is also going to try and get me one, but he said the last one he got, the holes didn't line up. The chinese manufacturers seem to change things on the fly at times and don't tell anyone. Looking long and hard at my yz250, it looks like I could take the dremel to it and make it work, but I'm not gonna pull my yz apart to try. |

Re: Chain slider for Pitster/OGM i just got some flat stock(steel) from Ace hardware, bent around the swingarm and duct taped it on the swinger, been there for a year now. I would rather change a chain then the swinger itself.

Re: Chain slider for Pitster/OGM There aren't any for this bike, nor are there any other china bikes that have sliders like on the OGM/Pitster/Thumpstar swingarm. An update on my end, since I can't get an answer as to anyone having these in stock, I went to a shop and bought a YZ250 slider (I think by UFO) and cut it down and drilled new holes in it and had to drill one new hole in the swingarm So I finally got to ride around the yard on my new wheels. (I'm gonna post a couple pics in another thread)
