I'm dying to take my ZB50 out and rip around town. I'd like to roll out with as many people as possible so grab your street legal (or not so legal) mini and cruise out!

Ride plan: Meet up at PCH and Sunset Blvd no later than 8 AM Sunday. There is a VONS there and you can park in that lot if you want to truck your bike in.

Fuel up, Take PCH to Topanga canyon, up Frenwood, to Tuna Cyn back to PCH then head up Las Flores to Schuren rd to Stunt, Mulholland, then stop at the Rock Store for a frosty beverage and some bench racing.

Continue on Mulholland, go down Kanan to Latigo to PCH, up Malibu Cyn, to Piuma which turns into Las Flores back to PCH and on to Sunset.

I figure this will be a good 3 hour 80 mile tour, and anyone can split as they wish.

Next Sunday is Father's day so I don't think that'd be a good time to go.

So you're out? I mean c'mon, I accomodated an early time just for you. I need my beauty rest you know... A 3 hour tour including stopping and stuff, looking for Ginger and Maryann, etc. The Rock Store is a quick ride, from there everyone can decide what they want to do, split up or go on.

Didn't plan on going to Laguna Seca, unless I come across a killer deal on tix

Eddie and I are in. We're gonna carpool. We'll meet you at PCH and Sunset at 8am. Where do we park? We'll only be able to do about 2 hours since I have to be back home at around 11 and so does Eddie.

I'm trying to get one of my friends with a YSR50 to go on the ride. He can go but needs to get his YSR50 started. If not, he'll whip out the big bike to come out and play. He lives out in Santa Monica also.

Screw the CHP and screw deers!!

I went on a test ride tonight, hop on the last first entrance to PCH, which happens to put you on the last 100 feet of the 10 fwy and boom, instant christmas lights! not even 5 minutes into the ride. Cop gives me lip about riding on the freeway, legal this and legal that, have you been drinking etc, etc, I reply with a bunch of yes sir no sirs and he "lets me off with a warning". Prick!

The on ramp sign is clearly marked PCH, no mention of 10 fwy, I would have kicked his butt in court if he dared ticket me.

Off to a bumpy start but no worries its a nice night, go out for a cruise. I take the planned route for this weekend, and about a mile up fernwood a friggin deer pops out not more than 10 feet in front of me. I nearly layed the bike down, but luckly it kept moving. I stopped and checked my shorts.

Made it home after racking up 50 miles and no mechanical problems. the new gearing works bitchin! went from a 14/39 to a 17/35 and i can cruise 45 at 6700 RPM instead of 9000. I still want to try a 33 or 31 rear and see how it behaves.

Anyway, Sam, cool that you can make it and hopefully your buddy can to. If he needs some help w/ the YSR send him my number (in the first post) and I'll see if I can do something.

You guys driving in can park in the vons/taco bell lots on the S/E corner of sunset and PCH or even on the coast side of PCH, which should be pretty empty at that time. up to you.

two4seven: We'll be at the rock store around 9. look for the smallest bikes there!

remember for those coming out, it will be somewhat chilly in the morning, but will probably warm up later on. If I don't see you coming in, I'll be waiting at the Chevron station on the corner of sunset/PCH

Here are the pics from today. After about 55 miles, I had to switch to my reserve on the crf tank.

Vlad is a mad man on his zb through the twisties. Sam and I had a hard time keeping up. Thanks for the fun ride Vlad. We need to do this again soon!

Good to meet both you guys, fun times! for those that didn't come out, I can't say more than you missed out and hope to see you next time.

Sam, get some better brakes man!

This ride highlighted the weakness of the stock suspension of the ZB. that's the next step, and some stickier tires too. Check out my new 1/2 hour custom exhaust, a modified pitster x4r pipe chopped, extended and welded up to fit the ZB. looks clean and sounds good!

That was a sick sick ride. I couldn't believe all the twisties up there. On the last leg of the journey, we came down a super twisty one way road.

Vlad posted some pictures of his new snake friend in front of a snake like road.

Thanks for hosting the ride Vlad. Sorry I was so slow. I have a point on my driving record so I can't afford to get another plus I'm slow as heck.

Funny, while we at the Rock Store (Eddie's pics) we received more attention than some of the expensive more exotic bikes. A guy that had a $20,000 Harley V-Rod came up to us and chatted with us for about 10 minutes. He actually wanted to get a Panda also. I said I'd forward a couple ads to him. While we were leaving we had a lot of people taking pictures of us while watching us take off. LOL.

Hit me up next time you guys go, that's where I ride my bike on the weekends.. I usually go from my house to the Rock Store, Encinal cyn to PCH to Neptunes Net then up Decker cyn to Westlake blvd and home... I didn't see this thread until today... Glad you guys had a great time.
