Re: Hollywood Bike Night

It's Wednesday nights. My vapor speedo should be here the beginning of next week. I want to get that on before we go so I don't get harrassed by the popo.

No, but I worry... if I ever did get pulled over and they asked me if I knew how fast I was going... I'd be screwed.

Dude, WHAT ARE YOU THINKING??? like you would really say, sorry occifer i realize I was going 70 in a 35 but could you give me a break? F that, I always say I was going exactly the posted speed limit. then if they give you lip, blame it on calibration error.

Even though I have my Vapor, the speedo is the only thing not hooked up. I rode 163 miles today in about 5 hours, as indicated by my GPS, and pulled a 73.2 MPH top speed downhill in full tuck!!! I think I went up and down every canyon in Malibu at least twice.

Back on subject, I blazed by a CHiP today, dragging pegs on a 35 MPH section of Mulholland doing at least 55. I saw him flip a bitch and was on my ass in no time. I pulled over before he even caught up. He pulled up behind me, never got out of his ride,(I think he just ran the plate), then just pulled up alongside me, gave me a funny look AND a thumbs up, flipped another bitch then proceeded on his way.

I don't know what you are all afraid of? most our bikes have a hard time maintaining the speed limit, let alone break it. CHP has bigger fish to fry...

Re: Hollywood Bike Night

Damn Vlad, you were haulin a$$ to drag pegs...
I bet he was more interested in your street legality then your speed. Because the bike is so small, he didn't correlate that with speed. If it was a speed issue, your courtroom defense can be that your bike is a ZB50 meaning 50cc only. How could you be doing 55 in a 35 on a 50cc bike? C'mon, your honor. The engine was off and I was coasting.

Re: Hollywood Bike Night

After reading your speeds in Malibu, I feel really slow.
Vlad, have you taken your ZB to the kart track yet?
Did you get your rearsets on?

Yes this is true, however without the speedo I can't say I was doing the speed limit. And, it's not that were breaking the speed limit but rather even if were doing the limit, because of our exhaust it sounds like were going much faster due to the high revs and noise. But really what I don't want is just another reason for them to stop me.

Yeah, and that's what I heard too. And, they seem to break up the meet at 10pm.

No rearsets yet, so stock springs, stock pegs, sticky tires and my fat ass will make scraping pegs easy.

I was pretty sure it wasn't a speed issue, only a matter of being legal. He didn't pull me over, I just stopped cause I knew what he wanted plus a really fun section was coming up and I didn't want him on my ass. Besides, I've had good luck in the past pulling over when I was blatantly speeding before the lights came on. not on the ZB though.

No track time yet. where would I go? Adams?

Re: Hollywood Bike Night

check out what I found! pics from yesterday! This guy's hobby is to go up in the twisties by the lookout and take shots of bikes and cars rolling by. I think he was out when Eddie, Sam and I were out there in June, so I hit him up for more pics. I'll let you guys know if he has any more
