We need some input

We are located in the North County of San Diego...basically we are thinking of putting some motard tires on a couple of our bikes and going riding. I just want to know where in socal you guys ride (like tracks...backyard...street etc.) and how much use do you think we would get out of a bike with motard tires. Also, how well do these tires hook up on hard packed dirt (bmx style trails)

None of us have ever really experimented with mini motards, so I think its time we head in that direction, so any advise would be great.
Thanks!

Re: We need some input

Most run in parking lots, and go-cart tracks. Iv seen people also run them at bigger road track, but these things don't have enuf top speed for that imo. The hard packed trails are part of the motard experience, mine dosnt do bad at all.

If you want to check out a really great motard build, hit up Mike from G2Moto. Or I can email some pics. Theres more to a motard than just throwing on street tires.

Ok, what exactly do we need to know to convert a normal CRF50 to a motard? I am totally new to this, so I really have no clue. Any help would be great

We are thinking of selling a mini motard line of FiveO Products, so this is the first step in developing that.

Definitely check out G2Moto for all of your answers. Wide rims, sticky tires, stiffer suspension(lowered if possible), bigger brakes, low narrow handlebars...I could go on forever. G2Moto is a great place to start.

Re: We need some input

There are 4 events going on in SoCal this Summer with one coming up on June 22.
There is a mini motard class.
You can check out the event info at Mini Motorsports Mayhem
I know of a few San Diego racers who go to the races there in Rialto.
It might be worth your while to check out the info.

Some derlin frame sliders would be a good thought. Good brakes, Real good tires, A proper setup bike is a lot of fun. And hold it WFO
