| PIC REQUEST: CRF50 on NSR wheels... As the title says... I'd like to see a CRF 50 (motard, sm or streeted out) riding on any NSR wheels... Also, if you could add a few details as to axle diameter and suspension set up I'd appreciate it!! The one thing I'd REALLY like to know is the outer width of the hub outside to outside straight through the center. Thanks!!!

| Re: PIC REQUEST: CRF50 on NSR wheels... Dan, To make a long explanation short. You need 55mm offset Monkey triple clamps to give yourself a chance to have the front wheel clear the engine. NSR wheels are much wider then anything made for the CRF, so you have to go to the Monkey parts unless you have a good CNC machinist at your disposal. Synapse, Kitaco, G-craft, or Over Racing (cheapest to most expensive) NSR50 fork legs with either an OEM Nissin caliper, or adapter and Brembos. 220mm disc on the front, 160mm in the rear. Most of the guys running NSR wheels on a CRF are running g-craft swingarms and modify the rear caliper bracket to the G-craft swinger. Shock choices are kitaco, ohlins or custom works. |

| Re: PIC REQUEST: CRF50 on NSR wheels... Moose, Z nailed most of it, the one additional detail I'll toss out... NSR50's run about 7mm more sprocket offset than CRF50s. G-Craft normally builds their swingarms to move the wheel to the right to match the stock chain position. I opted for a custom swingarm from G-Craft that centers the wheel, but as a consequence I have to run offset front sprockets. Daytona sells offset sprockets for coarse spline 50 output shafts, but not for fine splines so you'll need an older transmission, or a 4 speed. Alt option is to make your own offset sprocket carrier out of a dead sprocket. Index of /TTR/media/06Rebuild/UPC There are a bunch of pics of me mocking up an NSR50 rear wheel in a UPC swingarm, showing both the offset problem, and the fact that with such a wide rim, if you run US tires, you'll need a LONG swingarm to get clearance. If you wanna run the low profile tires available in Japan, you can get away with a shorter swingarm. http://www.x386.net/TTR/media/06Rebu.../HPIM0409a.jpg CRF70 frame, G-Craft swingarm, SPI clamps, NSR50 forks. Lots of other pics in that folder with close ups of various bits. If you wanna go real unique in the US, have Dan dig up some pics of the monkey frames with adapter kits to accept CRF70 plastics... lots of direct fit NSR50 conversion parts, motard look.
