Need to quiet exhaust on ssr125

My buddy is looking into buying a 2006 ssr125. It is very loud and needs to find way to silence it. Has anyone done something like this? I want it to still look factory. It cant be much louder than a stock 110. Ideas please.

I'm no mechanic but when I hve probs and I cant buy a solution, I make My own custom part. Probably if your end cap is removeable, you can use a washer about the same size as the end cap, drill holes where the screws on the cap would be onto the washer, sitck some sort of a metal cone to the washer, and bolt on...Kinda like a spark arester. If you dont have a clue on what I just said, I'll draw it out for you, or see if i can find a pic similar to what I'm talkin about.

You could also try overlapping screens. That will sorta tone it down a bit.

I thought about that. I had a xtreme 88 that had a glasspack style muffler on it and I removed it and put a klx110 muffler in its place. It was a hack job but reduced the noise by 50%. I want to make this look clean. Thanks for the input.

Stock 50 exhaust? Restrictive but quiet.

It has a "big gun" exhaust on it now. I'll has to see what differnet tips it has now. I know it meets state park requirements (94-96db), but thats still loud. Anybody know how many db's a stock klx110 makes.
