Mid-Ohio mini-racing

Yo folks in case you have not heard yet:

USMGP is hosting mini racing again at Mid-Ohio during the AMA Honda Supercycle Weekend.

August 1, 2, 3. If your not making the trek to Wisconsin you might wanna get involved with this event. $75 gets you two adult weekend passes and all the mini racing you can handle.

Check the link for some more exciting news. Also there are other threads there relating to how, when, where etc...

Has anyone run on a mini motard down here before? Wouldn't you be nearly flat out all the time, or is it on a track differnet than the road course?

Re: Mid-Ohio mini-racing

We race on the upper Skid-Pad.......... We make the track design Thursday afternoon. Short, tight, FUN what more could ask for?

This will be the 3rd or 4th year........

You get to pimp the sport to 40,000 plus RACE fans for 3 days straight

A bargain at $75 for two passes for the entire event.

Last year we ran a really fun course that was 1st, 2nd and 3rd for my 110 and quite fast at the end of the back straight. Lots of turns, gear changes, uphill and downhill turns and most of all lots of fun. Some said it was a bit unsafe, but it was only what you made of it and this year the course will be changed to allow safer spectator areas with better rider safety thru different runoff areas.

Last year the mini-motards were there in force and put on a good show for all to watch. If you have never participated at Mid-Ohio, its the best $$$ you could spend. A pro AMA race, riding with all of the other mini maniacs, getting to meet some of the pros, some adult beverages thrown in and we won't even talk about partying on saturday night. Give it a shot.

Oh yea, bring lots of fuel and good tires as we ran LOTS of laps last year. I would guess that I ran 200 laps last year(Teddy could confirm this) and was so worn out that I actually started skipping sessions due to being exhausted.

Re: Mid-Ohio mini-racing

Theres lots of events promoted as "national". Its been done for years...... it is still being done........... SEMRA should have great success with their "national" event at Schawno Wi.

We understand if you are making another race, no problem what so ever!

If your not going to another event, and are close enough, want to encourage 40,000 plus race fans to understand where the future racers come from. Racers come from racing pocketbikes, miniGP, flat track, MX etc... then move into local clubs, Regional clubs and WERA, then to the AMA and beyond. We now have RedBull with a series!!! Most of those youngsters came from MiniGP and Pocketbikes!

Like Dan said 200 plus laps for him. On Friday alone last year i turned about 150-180 laps. Have fresh tires mounted up cause your gonna lay waste to them. If you want to promote the sport and make it grow heres your chance

IT really is a decent little track! I have raced on much lesser kart tracks........

So Dan your gonna come out and play again!!

Are you bringing some CAMRA racers
