| Last sunday we raced another round for the Dutch MiniMotard Championship. This time we crossed the border to race at the worldfamous Francorchamps track in Belgium. Well.... we didn't actualy race the big F1 circuit; but the go-kart track was close enough. The race-atmosphere overthere is great; you can sense its a special place. I race the Pitbike Open class; 150cc max and unlimited on power. Had some engine trouble in timed-practice resulting in a very disapointing 14th place. Luckily we found the problem; a loose groundwire. ![]() With heats only being 20 minutes starting on the 6th row didn't make things easy. The presence of some top Belgium riders (who know the track better) made things worse. But; things turned out well; managed to get 4th in the first heat and 5th in the second; both times finishing 3rd best Dutch rider (and collecting the points). As you can see on one of the pics, the track wasn't wide enough sometimes; going over the curbs and using the extra strip of asphalt on the outside. ![]() |
