Curious...What is a mini-motard?

I'm new to this site and was curious, what is the definition of a mini-motard? Are they essentially 50cc bikes? Non brand-specific pitbikes? Thanks.

I'm MO-TARDED! And here is my mid-size mini motard

My X4 Motard build?

Any chance of seeing some more Motard racing pop up?

Re: Curious...What is a mini-motard?

Basically its what everyone said and then some.......

"pitbikes" are the most common bike to start from.
Then some people use MX bikes like the 65, 85 2-strokes, the bigger wheeled "playbikes" in the 125-150cc range of 4-stroke machines. It all boils down to what the fun/racing purpose is in your particular region. Each club has specific class structures to fit just about everything.

We have people in ohioysr.org racing "minitards" full roadrace no dirt.......

People in Ohioysr race anything from the older XR50s, CRF50s, CHINESE "pitbikes", XR100s, TT125s, CRF150Rs, CR85s, KX65s......................... most call them "minimotards" although most never see the dirt EVER.

The 4 CRF50 based "minimotards" I own get moderate use in the dirt for training. But I don't race them in any true "motard" events........
