Vince, what carbs do these bikes come with? Mine says 24 on the air cleaner side. Does that have to do w/ the size (24mm carb?). I thought these bikes came w/ 26mm carbs.

please remember we dont build or spec these bikes
(even my suggestion of 160cc was "stupid")
they come with mikuni carbs

hmmm. So, how do I Identify the carb I have? I know you don't build these bikes, but do you know what size carb they come with?

im not sure were this is leading ,but the pitbikes came from china as do the carbs
china mikuni
you have jets (or should soon),see how it runs
check your plug ,,,,all the normal tuning procedure

the LAOGM crew found 20 pilot / 97.5 main to be a good set up

if you going to built the motor up you may want to upgrade to a larger carb

I have no doubt I will be able to tune the carb w/ your kit. That is really not what I was asking about. Just carb size info.

The carb is stamped 24 on the side. The carb is 26 mm at the slide but tapers to 24 mm on the ends. It is not a real Mikuni carb but the VM24 jets fit in it. The VM 26 jets are different especially the pilot jet.

my point exactly
all the pitbikes that have mikuni carbs are "copy" carbs
you cant ID it against say sudco because the same units not listed and never will be
some china carbs work great like these and the 22mm mikuni flange mount
but there not japan mikuni

You just need to try different pilots and play with the needle clip position. We have a couple of these carbs and none of them are the same jetting. Some guys find a 20 pilot to work well where ours will not run on that pilot. Once you get the pilot set and needle clip position, the carb works quite well. We also found the air filters for a 26mm carb seem to fall off easily but we put a Uni filter from a 22mm carb we had on ours. They go on a little tight but they don't fall off.

I have the same problem w/ the Uni filter I ordered. This kinda stuff is the reason I was looking for more info/specs on this carb.

vince is a great guy he will even talk to you on the phone, i've left him a messege's before, he's allway's called me wright back, he work's hard to help you if any problem's, so as far as getting a new ogm or getting part's t-bolt is the only way to go!!
