NCC Engines, 150,160,177,180,184

Be sure to get your big bore engine order in as last time they went fast and took a while to get more in stock!!!!!!
NCC new line of engines based on the GPXs , We are now offering very reliable 177cc engines, our own 180cc,184cc engine . these are NOT scut or skirtless piston engines, they are full skirt pistons and have our own custom BBK cylinder setup. Engines start at $789 for the 177 comes with carb , CID, shifter, kick start oil cooler.for $849 the 180cc engines come with carb , cid, shifter and kick start, oil cooler. These engines will easily upgrade to TBv2 heads and carbs. The 184cc availible and will run $889. Not ready for the big big dog engine we also have 160s ,150s and many other engine options. These engines also come with our own clutch upgrade availible only on NCC engines. Plus engines will have an optional NCC oil filter .Because we are using OUR own BBK, You cannot build a big bore engine for less than this!!!

Re: NCC Engines, 150,160,177,180,184

Do these come with upgraded cams, clutch springs, hd cam springs too? Inner rotor/stock rotor/light outer rotor? What about oil sling? Any idea what type of compression ratio's and fuel types will run best?

Also, what size/make of carb is included in the package?

Finally, what types of revs are we talking about with this motor?

This is something I am very interested in, but haven't seen answers to these basics in other threads.

Re: NCC Engines, 150,160,177,180,184

What mounts are they gonna have 50 style or 110. Also is it better to have a full skirt piston?? or better to have an s -cut. which would produce more horsepower (given same head/carb/ etc.) Any dynos on any of these??

What would be better a 165 with v2 head or one of your 177 or 180's with normal head??

Re: NCC Engines, 150,160,177,180,184

Engine Specs:
  • Air Cooled Four Stroke
  • 53mm stroke (150) 57mm (160,177,180,184)
  • 60mm bore (150,160)177 (63mm)180(63.5mm)184(64mm)
  • Compression Ratio: 9.2:1 (150) 9.5:1(160)11.5:1(177)11.8:1(180)12.1-5:1(184)KLX110 Style Head (stock YX)
Max peak HP is going to come in around 9500rpm, with max TQ comming in at around 4000 for the larger engines and 5500 for the smaller ones. These engine combinations have be torture tested by a number of riders and have been built to a point so that the 184 is as reliable as the stock 150. Yes there are clutch improvements that we do to ensure long clutch life, those that purchase one can open it up and see what we have done (you will be sworn to secretcy, LOL).

Transmission Specs:
  • 4-Speed All Up Transmission (N-1-2-3-4)
  • Manual Clutch (start in any gear)
  • Transmission Ratio:
    First Gear: 3.272 (11/36)
    Second Gear: 1.937(16/31)
    Third Gear: 1.35(20/27)
    Fourth Gear: 1.043(23/24)
  • They are being offered in these configurations to be reliable and pack a punch. We will do some dyno testing of the engines but will only use numbers as a tool for comparing and tuning different combinations.
These engines can be upgraded using many after market components, IE cams , heads, carbs, etc.

We feel a full skirt piston and cylinder will offer much improved reliability for many reasons, more support on the piston and cylinder, more surface area to dissipate heat and also more area for oil lubrication, thus adding to longjevity.

How much HP do you think the 184cc's are putting out? I'm really interested to see...

Re: NCC Engines, 150,160,177,180,184

We have drag race tested them , no dynos, but compared to a TBv2165 with a 28tb carb,FMF 4.1, and the 184 using a stock YX head cam and a molkt carb, pipe, we even switched riders a few times, the 184 consitantly pulled out of the hole about 1 bike length and was caught by the TB engine only in the top of 4th gear. We feel with taller gearing it could be closer in top gear but also might be closer for the 165 out of the hole.Add a TB head and as they say, no replacement for displacement, we will test a tb 28 on the 184 and I am sure it will add some topend pull.

Re: NCC Engines, 150,160,177,180,184

I would bet that the gearing is to short for the 184, with taller gearing I bet the 184 keeps pulling the 165

I agree, I feel that the TQ just blew through the gears and past the curve , if we short shifted it was much better.

Re: NCC Engines, 150,160,177,180,184

Because you arent using Skirtless pistons does that mean that the cylinder is longer?? Looks like your using a longer stroke. Has anyone had any problems with front wheels hiting the head on these on 50 based bikes??

the engnes are no longer than the stock 150s, the only thing with the front tire might be keeping it on the ground!!

Might just do that, our dyno is 250miles away, while very compitent just not very handy.

IF I were to post any numbers it would include a graph to get a complete picture of the engines performance.

I hate the numbers game. It sells engines though.
