Gustav It has been 3 years since Katrina entered the Gulf, and boy things are feeling eerily similar. GustavProjectedPath.jpg So far.. I am not being allowed to renew the insurance on my pickup truck. ![]() There is not a bottle of drinking water to be had within 15 miles. ![]() Gas prices have risen roughly 4 cents since Tuesday morning. ![]() My cellular phone is blowing up every 5 minutes. (I really hate that.) ![]() ..and to top it all off.. The goddamn lawnmower's ****ed!!! ![]() Oh well I guess the grass can keep on growing.. I gotta run before all the beer gets bought up! Good luck to everyone that is about to be affected. Say a little prayer for New Orleans!

Re: Gustav Good Luck, hopefully they got some things straightened out since Katrina. What happened then shouldn't have and should not happen this time. Buy lots of BEER!!

Re: Gustav Thanks guys. News hasn't changed much. They say it's still en route to here. So.. ![]() I went out shopping. The clouds seemed really low. Gustav 002.jpg Got plenty local beer. Gustav 003.jpg And some ($$$) water. Gustav 005.jpg Also picked up a few smelly candles. Gustav 010.jpg And some food and some more beer. Okay so maybe I picked up a 5th of wokka and a bottle of wine too. ![]() Gustav 008.jpg

Re: Gustav It's just in case I run out of the beer and vodka I already have. Gustav 012.jpg Gustav 013.jpg Got my gf's camping stove out of storage. This will be for soups and such. Gustav 015.jpg And got the yard in order. Time to burn a pile and drink a cold one. It's almost Noon somewhere, right? Gustav 016.jpg If **** really hits the fan again, my old lady and I will be hopping on one of my bikes and enjoying the open roads all weekend, like this lovely Haitian couple.. (We promise not to loot any homes or businesses, unless we run out of beer and/or vodka.) HaitiGustav.jpg On a serious note.. there's like 60+ dead from this storm already. I would recommend anyone from Houston to Pensacola to get your **** in gear if you live anywhere along the Gulf coast. With such ideal conditions being out there right now (ie. 87F waters, tropical loops) things could get ugly.

Re: Gustav What's the projected path look like now? I know this time always sucks, growing up in South Florida it was a pain just waiting to see if the hurricane was going to hit you or not. Good luck and hope it works out, I remember when Andrew came through and tore everything to $hit (in my mind like yesterday).

![]() Things are getting hairy here. There is no gas left within at least 30 miles of my home. I'm friggin exhausted. Now I have to wake up early so I can make it to Mandeville, La by 6AM in order to save most of my belongings from an inevitable flood (due to the expected storm surge in Lake Ponchartrain). There is a mandatory evacuation that will be placed in effect at 7 AM. I hope I can get an hour or two of sleep. There is still a lot of preparation to be done. More pics to come... Wish us luck. | |

Re: Gustav Thanks guys. It's time to buckle down. I just finished shooting some perch out back with a pellet gun and I made up a trout line. Still gotta go throw it in the river and then come back and board the front door up tight. I am hoping this will be less of an event than we have been anticipating. I am ready for the worst though. The chainsaws are all earled up and the beer is mighty frosty. Signing off for a few days. Talk to you guys later!

Re: Gustav Hey wurms, hope yall turned out okay. We are trying to prepare for Ike. This bitch keeps moving farther and farther east!! I don't care if it hits Corpus, because we don't need another damn hurricane. Lucky for us, Sam's had a very large amount of hurricane supplies already waiting for us. We got about 50 gallons of water, a week's worth of food, 2000 rounds of 7.62x39 (for the looters DAVE
