Re: Picked up a modded 110.. have a question.. Ok, the photo is a little large... I kept it that way so the Rear brake could be seen, so far everything is good with the bike, except the rear disc locks up after about 5-10 laps of easy riding on a track.. If I bleed it slightly its fine for another 10 laps.. Is it really hard to get it right? BBR says the clevis needs adjusted so the brake doesn't hit the foot peg mount, but the adjustment is all the way up already.. Is this a common problem with the BBR rear disc kit ? I have never seen a disc brake lock up like this.. There is no fluid loss, no leaks in the system, and its the newer type BBR disc kit. I have tried flushing the system and bleeding the brakes, using Dot 4 fluid, but it does the same thing, brake works fine, have about 1.5 " of pedal travel, but after a few laps the rear brake closes up.. as if it has air in the system and can't release.

Re: Picked up a modded 110.. have a question.. are you draggin it or keeping pressure on it when you ride. maybe your heat seizing your rear break. have done this on big bikes a couple times.

Re: Picked up a modded 110.. have a question.. You need to adjust the deal that goes from your pedal into the master. It is too low causing it to be too tight so when your brakes heat up just a bit the fluid is expanding causing it to lock up, my bike did the same thing with the BBR brakes. Takes some fiddling with but you willl get it dialed. To be honest it took me about 5 times to get it right so I still have good pedal response without it doing it.

Re: Picked up a modded 110.. have a question.. I'm almost certain the adjustment from pedal into the bottom of the master cylinder is all the way in.. but I'll check again. That's what bbr said also, but I don't think I have any adjustment left there.

Re: Picked up a modded 110.. have a question.. Try swapping out the brake fluid. Some of the cheaper fluids expand from the heat and cause the brakes to drag.

Re: Picked up a modded 110.. have a question.. jsmith where are you located? i swapped my fluid out to galfer high temp and it did the same thing until I got it right. its your adjustment. try screwing in the entire threaded part not just the nuts, that is typically the error.

Re: Picked up a modded 110.. have a question.. listen to 50spit, your pedal adjustment from the master cylinder to the pedal is too tight causing it to not release 100% my car had this problem, the brakes would drag slightly and after a couple miles would heat up and lock up completely until it cooled down. take the pedal off and see where the master is fully released then install the pedal and see if its pushing on it at all

| Re: Picked up a modded 110.. have a question.. I had to remove one of the Two nuts that was on the clevis and it was probably pushing up way too much, my son will not be riding until this weekend, so I will see how it goes.. I hope that was the problem. In the photo you can actually see there are two nuts on the bottom of the clevis, not sure why it had two there, I had to screw the adjustment up at least 1/4 of an inch, so this could have been the problem.
