hey guys. i have an 06 klx 178 with the race head, 26 mm carb and the thing is running like ass. snappy in neutral but when i put it in first to ride around it sounds like its missing. if i snap the throttle she will take off but as soon as i go to anything less than full throttle she runs ****ty. to be 100 percent honest i am not sure if my jetting is correct. when i installed the bbk, it had a 140 main and im not sure on the pilot size. it ran pretty decent with a bog if u gave it full throttle from an idle. i came onto planet minis to get some peoples opions on jetting and dood suggested a 22.5 pilot and a 170 main needle on fourth clip. tried that and the same problem.. tried some different main jets...nothing...so i talked to some of my buddys and some other people at the track and one guy said he was running a 155 main, 17.5 pilot, and the needle on the bottom clip with a small washer to raise it up a little more... i do that, get all pumped up, rev her up, she was snappy. i was like niiiice. put it in gear, same issue. OYE. so i have no idea whats goin on. is it possible the stock cdi box is bad? i think the timing is coorect because it runs great in neutral and idles. its just as soon as i put it in gear the issue starts...sorry for the long post..

is your air/fuel mixture rite ??? because my bike was doin a very similler thing and it was just the air/fuel mixture

check your float level as well...sounds like that is whats wrong

seems to me you would need some bigger jets, I have a 124se and am running a 155/17.5

yeah see im not sure what jets to run and im kinda new to the whole tuning in a carb...how do i eliminate the possibility that the float is messed up? take it apart and clean it? ive tried bigger jets-many bigger jets and it still had this same problem. the only difference is now it smokes a little bit. very little after i crack the throttle..which could be too much fuel?
