ktm65sx front end

traded my stock fork legs for a complete 99 ktm65sx front end and im putting it together now. im going to do a little write up on it. not completely done yet but im close. i rode on them today (dont ask how haha) and wow what a difference. just as good if not better than the kx65 forks, but i wouldn't say as good as newer ktm forks. anyway heres some pics and such to show you how i did it.

start out by pressing the ktm stem out of the bottom clamp

then i went on to the drz clamp. as you can see its welded/pressed in so you need to grind away the weld.

ground down a bit..

right now my 110 clamp and stem are getting seperated, so in the mean time i went to the upper 65 clamp. you need to ream/bore out the stem hole just a little to fit around the 110 stem.

here it is bolted up to another 110clamp/stem on the bike.

heres a picture of it mocked up

ill continue once i get the other stem/clamp back and have it finished.

i definitely recommend this if you find one of these front ends for cheap..

Re: ktm65sx front end

they need new seals, and probly oil. its sagging in the picture. and in that pic there just bolted up in the top clamp, i can move them down about 2 inches aswell. i didnt put hd springs in, yet. they do have alot more travel ill tell you that though, once i finish the project ill go into more detail
