To clutch, or not to clutch.. Hey, Just looking for people who have the TB manual clutch, and I want to know your opinion, the class I am now racing allows x4s and all, and I ride a stock 110, so i figure I am going to need the clutch, but I am also a basher, so my question is, to clutch, or not to clutch? AND WHY EITHER WAY! thanks, Joe

| Re: To clutch, or not to clutch.. I've used both TBR hydraulic and TB Wire clutch kits and I like the TBR hydraulic better; smoother and easier to pull. Although I'm currently running the TB wire only because I like the crankcase and as most of you know, hydraulic uses stock case and my stock case is all beat up...I'll eventually go back to hydraulic once my TB case gets beat up or sumthin goes wrong...All my stock case needs is a little bit of metal brush polishing and it'll look as good as new but I'm too lazy to do that right now. | Re: To clutch, or not to clutch.. I know for roadracing the KLX the manual clutch is the ticket. Kinda harder to keep the shifter detented and rpm match and then let it out and all while riding track. I dont know about the dirt. I rode mine in the dirt a little bit but we only trail rode so I didnt hammer in the dirt any to really see how it all felt. I would imagine its much easier riding it in auto clutch format in the dirt than on the pavement. |

Re: To clutch, or not to clutch.. Ditto^^^ Personally, its alot easier to keep up momentum on a stocker cuz you can keep it pinned and take the turns alot easier unlike a longer suspension mod which you have to square square the corner to get around.

Re: To clutch, or not to clutch.. Get the clutch if your racing E-Town. Gate starts and some slow corners with big jumps just out of them almost requires them to clear. When I had the SSR90R with auto I could not get over a few jumps that I'm sure I could have made with a few slips of the clutch. Just my $.02.

Re: To clutch, or not to clutch.. My son puts his bike in 1st gear and then shifts up to 2nd and holds the shifter up with his foot, revs the bike till its on the rev limiter and drops his foot when the gate drops. It works great just like haveing a manual clutch. Takes a little practice and make sure you are sitting on the tank. Alan

Re: To clutch, or not to clutch.. Do you have to split the cases to install a primary gear? I just installed a hydraulic clutch on my bike last week and it's my favorite mod by far...

Re: To clutch, or not to clutch.. I've already removed the auto clutch assy when I installed the hydro kit. Will I still notice a big difference from installing a primary drive gear? What is removed that drops the weight when installing one of these?
