Z50/Panda Forks I've never had Z50 forks apart, but is there an easy way to shorten these a little, to lower my ride height? Basicly this is for a Panda I picked up yesterday. I won't be racing it, just cruising around my neighborhood, so I don't need million dollar forks. I'm going to put an XR75 swingarm on it with stock shocks, and would just like to lower the front a little to match the back.

Re: Z50/Panda Forks So nobody has had a set of Z50 forks apart? I'm sure I'll figure this out when I take mine apart, but I was just looking for you guys' ideas.

Re: Z50/Panda Forks Pull the fork legs out from the bottom. After you take off the top bolts on the triple clamps, you'll have to remove a circlip under the rubber boots at the bottom. You'll cut the chrome lowers for the length you want, you'll drill new holes through them, put in a new roll-pin and reinstall. Once you have them apart, you'll see what I'm talking about.

| Re: Z50/Panda Forks Do the upper and lower parts of your forks separate by a spin off cap like the older honda forks or is there a circlip inside the upper fork holding the lowers in? Im lowering my chaly forks right now but cutting a inch off the upper fork sections thus keeping the original fork travel. as apposed to cutting the lower and reducing it. The Chaly are the threaded cap types, and what is needed to be done is either cut and re-weld or cut and re die. I just had to order a very had to get ahold of freakishly large die to have the job done.

Re: Z50/Panda Forks I have yet to take my forks apart so I'm not sure yet how they come apart. But since this will be a streetbike I won't be worried about travel. Ang thanks for the warning about using the stock rear shocks. Maybe bigger sprockets would cure this problem?
