| YX 140 pics and questions... Alright guys I was finally able to get some pics of the situation. I have the YX 140cc came with an inner rotor kit. ![]() Question #1. So as you can see I unscrewed what I could and removed the outer magnets, all that is left is the magnet on the flywheel. Any tools you know of that will get the job done? I would love to just rent one (since I will never use that tool again) I am also up for jimmy rigging it if anyone has pics of what tools are involved. Once that headache is off then I am on my way to getting a 12v stator. Does anyone know the exact part number for the stator that fits this YX 140cc? I know all the sites that sell them, I have been to them multiple times. I am looking for the number so I can buy local, of which none of those sites can produce the item number and I know chinese parts are bad when it comes to a # system for inventory but still.... ![]() ![]() Here are some pics of the old stator out of the CT70. Its the 72cc original engine that came with the bike (6v). Now from what I have been told/read on this site. I CANNOT use this stator in the YX 140cc, right? ![]() This next pic is the male plug to the wire harness (I'm guessing). Does anyone know if the new stator has a male connector to go with this one? For the ease of quickly snapping it in and out? If I remember right there is one more green wire that comes with a 12v stator, of which I am guessing is a grounding wire? ![]() Here we have the female connector, which I think goes to the main harness of the bike, or does it first go to the CDI, then to the battery? I apologize up front with my lack of electrical knowledge, I am learning as I go. Again I would hope that the new stator will be able to hook up like this. But I don't know where the rectifier would fit in this equation. And for a question on the rectifier, is its purpose to convert the AC voltage from the stator to 12v DC, to run to the battery and lights ect...? If that is the case, I am looking to maintain 6v to the bike, what other part(s) will I need to accomplish this? ![]() This is the old Spark Coil correct? ![]() Now I figure that will need to be replaced with the new coil: ![]() Only thing is, Im not sure what wires to hook up here. And correct me if I am wrong, but this is the new CDI? ![]() Now where would I find the old CDI on an '81 ct70? Would it be right next to the battery in the middle of the frame of the bike? Just so I know where it is to replace it. Well guys, there they are in all their glory. Everything prior to this electrical issue had been just nutz and boltz, not difficult to figure out. But with this stator nonsense I have been getting mixed signals. One told me I could use the old stator, and the other told me I can't. I'm just looking for some honest to goodness help with this minor issue so I can get this puppy bolted up to the frame and up and running. Also, those who are interested in the Inner Rotor kit for your motocross bikes, It is up for sale. I have a price in mind, but am open to deal send me a PM. Thanks for taking the time to check this out, and thanks in advance for your assistance. -Ryan |

| Re: YX 140 pics and questions... this motor was NOT purchased from t bolt usa China Inner rotor: 1. Green wire with (loop fitting) goes to Ground 2. Green wire with horseshoe fitting goes to Green terminal on coil 3. Yellow wire with horseshoe fitting goes to yellow terminal on coil 4. Brown wire goes to white off the stator 5. Red wire (has 2 connections) 1 is for Black wire off the stator the other is for a kill switch connection

| Re: YX 140 pics and questions... If you are going to run a normal 12V flywheel setup you need a "normal" cdi. The CDI delivered with the inner rotor works only with the innner rotor kit. for cheap, stick a 12V china flywheel /stator combo medium, the lifan 6-spool stator /flywheel combo (ND copy) (relatively) expensive the genuine honda / nippon-denso flywheel/stator And then you need a CDI (too much choice Can't you remove the IRK flywheel with a 12V/NT flywheel puller? (I am a bit too far away to lend it out |

So what? ![]() There's some pretty good info here on the conversion: CT70_ENGINE_SWAP PARTS_NEEDED SOME_INSTRUCTIONS . Personally, I would convert the whole shooting match to 12V...Battery, lights, reg/rect. JMO
