Anyways, the sketchy way of doing the blank MSO might bite you in the end. How much are the registered Lifan frames going for? At this point, I would also not only consider the $ involved with getting it resolved but the time it's going to take you to get another CHP inspection and the lot of forms.

Good luck and keep us posted.
The Lifan frames are going for $150 on fleabay with a clear on-road MSO.

Re: Yet another CA legal Panda!

Well, I think I'm going to sell the Panda and build the Dax. I just don't want to spend the time getting the DMV paperwork situated when I have another plated and registered mini already.

If anybody is interested, let me know.

That's too bad mike. Would've been nice to have another Panda buzzing around.

Don't give up yet. You might regret selling it one day!

Honestly, I just don't want to hassle with the DMV stuff -- it wouldn't be that big of a deal to get one of those Lifan frames and then just swap everything and register it as a new bike with the Lifan VIN, but I've already got the Dax plated, insured, and current.

The money I get for the Panda can just go into the Dax. I'll still have a mini

And no matter what anyone says to the contrary, the Dax is by far the most comfortable to ride, and not very many tuned versions around. Lots of cool parts for these bikes...

Re: Yet another CA legal Panda!

Sigh.

The Panda is gone. I made the decision to let it go and move forward with the Dax build instead. In the end, I think it'll be the right decision, as the Dax is much more comfortable for me to ride -- and frankly, it won't take as much for it to not be frightening to ride on the street

Have no fear, though! The Panda will live on, as PM member DJ Hunny and her friend made the trek up to NorCal yesterday and bought the bike, along with the XR75 swingarm I had picked up for it, so I expect that it will still be treated properly.

Enjoy the bike, and post pics of the build progress!!!

As for me, on to the Dax... time to source a front end and plan a build for the CT70H motor I purchased and am waiting for in the mail. I guess I'll have to start a new build thread for that, though.

Ok mike. The Panda is gone (to someone on PM?).
Now start a Dax build thread.

You can keep the stock front end and run a really cool disc brake setup if you want to keep it being a period bike..
