wheels for z50

are the wheels assemblies (rim, hub, brake) pretty much all the same on the z50's from say like 70'-88'??

I believe after 77 they switched from 4 bolt hubs to 3 bolt hubs.

So to answer your question, no they are not all the same.


thats is with the US model Z50s

over seas the monkeys stuck with 4 bolt hubs, so with that all the aftermarket rims out there that can use the stock brake hub are for 4 bolt hub types.

ok thnx so the parts are not compatible from one assembly to the other from years on ether side of 77....

is the sizing different though ? will wheels from before 77 fit on a bike after 77???

Razzo can probably tell you guys for sure, but I think the switch was between 1979 and 1980 from 4 bolt to 3 bolt hubs.

1979 was the last year of the 4-bolt hub pattern. 1980-1999 was 3-bolt pattern.

Believe it or not I have run across a couple of late 79 with the smaller hubs and slot wheels. I have a 79 with larger hubs. I thought the first guy just switched wheels and hubs but through the years seen a couple more. Maybe Honda switched late production.
