more then likely he is losing his ass. its costs ALOT of money to restore these bikes, that cb750 he has that is like 14000 on there probably cost 20 to restore.

I sold my French Z50M after I restored it and took one ride on it. I have no desire to purchase a CZ100. I like to ride my bikes, rather then staring at them and imagining myself ride them as most collectors do.

10 years ago, you still could purchase a large number of Z50M and CZ100 parts from Honda of Japan and the bikes were cheap to restore. Most people with that many cool bikes have owned them for quite some time when parts were easier to find and much cheaper to restore.

Not very many people get started collecting today since it's too blasted expensive. The collector car hobby is way out of hand and the common man can't afford to own a Hemi-Cuda, Shelby, Superbird, etc. unless they have owned them for years and years.

I discussed with Todd, not you.

It was 3-4 years ago and was a complete (or parts) bike that could have been a CZ but was a QA. Not just an engine. Cub engines aren't worth that much and are a dime a dozen. I would have flipped the bike and made a small fortune.

You have to find opportunities when they arise as there are still some deals out there. However, my days of adding to my current crop of riders has ended. I have all the bikes I need to keep myself and my boys busy for years to come...

Back on topic.
