Re: Lets see everyone's Z! cant run a z50 front wheel unless i get triple clamps that are more spread out. i had planned on using the z wheel but the tire doesnt fit between the forks. as for the swingarm. i machined out those plates and welded them on. had to make a jig for it was the hard part. i kinda like the 8 inch wide tire in back and the narrow 10 inch in front. more like a big bike i'll look into the number plate.

Re: Lets see everyone's Z! man that sucks. it would be cool if you did a kitaco 10" up front with the 8" rear to keep the feel you have now. the kitaco looks just like stock just a little bigger. how wide is that front wheel?

Re: Lets see everyone's Z! its a regular xr50 rim with 2.75 michelin on it. i was bummed when the z wheel didnt fit between the fork legs. IMO the wide tires make the little bikes easier to ride.

Re: Lets see everyone's Z! On my crf50 style bike I run the older z50 wheel complete on the back and a 12 inch rim on the front. the OD of the z50 tires i have are bigger than any crf50 10 inch tire. i think it gets better traction myself. the old z50 wheels have a larger drum brake and the rims have smaller round holes than the newer z wheel and they dont bent as easy. thing i love most about my z is it really has paid for itself several times over. in "stock" class races where the only rules were 50cc and honda/yamaha cases. and i sold it once only to have to repo it b/c they only paid half the money. glad to have her back now.

I have brought a new coil and plug, have a good spark now to clean the carb. I found this web site the other day, it is so inspiering to see so many different z's and to see them in many different states, does anyone have any suggestions with me restoring the old Z. Can't wait to crack on speak to all you Z lovers later. Cheers Wayne |
