Was gonna say......bend the float tab a little but I would have bet the float needle journal was gummed. That little jet being gummed shouldn't cause it to overflow, but ethanol gas attracts water and will, in a matter of a week or two gum up the float needle either leaving it stuck closed(run out of gas in less than a lap ) or stuck open(leaving it to overflow out the tube).
