If it's your first streetbike you don't need the R1. Don't take it the wrong way, I don't doubt your abilities at all. I actually wouldn't reccomend an R6 to start on, but I know you prolly don't want to be stuck with a learner bike down the road. The R1 will bite you quicker if make a small mistake, turning it into a very big mistake. Hell, the R6 is what....130 hp now? Buy the R6, spend some time on it developing those skills. Down the road if you decide you need the liter bike ,you can always sell the R6. Good luck either way, and be safe man.
