Re: OGM...too much to ask to be able to ride it?

the problem is people that are not mechanically inclined shouldnt ride motorcycles. When i have a problem i dont bolt to the forum and wine about it. Instead of being on here and wining explain what the heck is wrong. People like this make me sick it kills the mini market.

I don't agree with the above statement. What if you said the same thing about cars? 95% of the population wouldn't be driving.

What about kids? Getting your wife/girlfriend to ride on a bike who can't wrench?

When someone purchases a new bike it should be useable and shouldn't need to be very labor intensive to get the bike to run. This is why people buy new and not used.

The dealers selling these bikes should be setting these up and have them ready for their customer. The problem is, the distributor and most dealers aren't touching the bike inside the crate, and are leaving it up to the customer to disassemble the crate and set the bike up and deal with the QC problems with bikes coming from China.

The distributor/dealer should be accountable for the Quality control, and not the customer.

If people aren't mechanically inclined, they need to be buying their bikes from a dealer who sets them up and tunes them up before passing it over to the customer and not just receive a crated bike that's been drop shipped.

Re: OGM...too much to ask to be able to ride it?

Pointless post.....I am a welder mechanic by trade.....I work on my rmz450(adjust valves.....oil, service, bearings, fork seals etc....).....there's a difference though.....this thing is such a contraption. The horror stories of the carbs on these things is unreal. When you buy a zuke you may have to go up or down one on the main....or one clip postion. I have had to take my carb apart at the track to do repairs. My complaint is the knowledge on the OGM end.....or lack there of. I am not that familiar with this bikes and I didn't pop out of a vagina knowing how to fix them.....sure I can learn how.....but, I didn't buy my Toyota pickup truck and expect to know how to tune the motor on it just because I drive it....comprende? I will say that their are some great people on this board.....(PAX, THECRKID, OLDSCHOOL, GHECKO, BRANCRACKAH etc.....but there are alos alot of people on here that claim to know their ass from a hole in the wall but don't. For anyone else that needs to know, my elevation is 210 ASL.....the valves are adjusted on the motor.....new inner rotor kit....new carb....new coil....new plug...Dave

Re: OGM...too much to ask to be able to ride it?

You found the words I couldn't....did you know it is an obligation for the big 4 Japanese companies to fully assemble their bikes and put atleast 3 miles on them before they are sold? I did buy my bike from a dealer. I guess it was drop shipped to me though.....got it in a crate and such. Dave

Re: OGM...too much to ask to be able to ride it?

this is the problem these importers dont know shi$ so all the dealers have to bail them out and not get a nickle from the importers,(while they sick back and count there $) i make almost $40 an hour at my real job but these guys expect me to work on there crap for free? ( and get ph calls at 10pm at night while the importer is in bed sleeping sound)not anymore. i am not working on another new chinese bike for free. someone should be held responsable.

I didn't call you out man. I just put the facts on the table. You have to carefully choose the people you listen to in the mini scene. Dave
