Re: EVS rc-evolution

Got mine 2 weeks ago, fits nice, just like the Leatt if you know what I mean. Set em and forget em. Sponsored teams, riders, stores, then everyone else. If you ordered one you'll get one, EVS is very good.

Re: EVS rc-evolution

i rode with it today for about 10 min and it wasn't to bad. the few things i noticed compared to my leatt is you can not turn your head left to right as much it stops you and it does not stop you head from going forward very good. it also seams to be alittle hotter to wear. but for the money if i didn't already have a leatt i would have one i think.it is just like the leatt after a few minutes of wearing it you don't even really know it is their

Re: EVS rc-evolution

Jim, at least put a better pic up... oh wait i suck.. there would be no better pictures...

Here is your review for everyone who is wondering.

1st impression were that it would be bulky and get in the way and that there were a few corners that might create a area of discomfort on the shoulder. When you put it on, it is from the back, not the side. Instead of putting it right over your shkull, you have to spread the collar and go around the back side of your neck.

If you can try one on, do it, just because it gives a weight for the rider as far as size, it does not take into consideration build. I am 175 and 5'7" wearing the Large and a XL might have fit a little better..

We spent about 20 min hitting the freestyle ramps and i really didn't think that it was really all that bad. I have a thicker neck so it does get a little warm around the neck but the material that is against your neck does not create any chaffing. you just sweat a little more.

Took a few minutes and played on some little dirt doubles in the yard in what used to be a practice track, again, didn't really know it was there.

Trail riding is wear you know that you are wearing one. it gets pretty hot due to lack of air flow and you can feel your helmet rub on the sides a little bit but nothing that you couldn't get used to.

Also, comparing it to a Leatt, the front area of the EVS is not quite as high as the Leatt leading me to be lieve that if your head gets slammed forward the Leatt would protect you better.

For the $160 or so that you pay for the EVS, you definately get your moneys worth. A comfortable and affordable alternative to the Leatt. I would reccomend this neck brace to anyone who doesn't wanna shell out the cash for the leatt

Re: EVS rc-evolution

good info, peeps. I'm going to get one. EVS has a great price compared to Leatt and the $600 Alpinestars one.

Keep the reviews and pics coming! Now Leatt needs to release their budget model. Or is it already out?

Re: EVS rc-evolution

it sits over your shoulders and the collar fastens around your neck. I didn't notice it moving around at all. it does come with straps for under your arms but i didn't use them or feel like they were needed. It really can't go anywhere with your helmet on.

It is said to be able to but i haven't tried it yet. It does give intructions on how to put one on. unlike the Leatt (from what i am told) you don't have to modify your chest protector. i did wear it with an under the jersey style roost guard and that worked fine.
