Re: My YSR 200 4 Stroke build!

Shawn, I've been watching your build. Great job! you'll have to keep us posted with how the finished product performs. One question I have is what did you do for a rear sprocket? I have nsr wheels on my ysr also, and want to put a 250 motor in mine.

Re: My YSR 200 4 Stroke build!

I have a sprocket, Black 41t sprocket specialists. I was kicking arround a 250f motor. Just too expensive and hard to find. Id like to see what your bike looks like with the nsr wheels. Did you use Nsr Forks/Swingarm? Or did you use the Ysr forks and caliaper?

The build is rocking Shawn. Guys, the work is impressive in person.

I'm going to try and swing by this weekend on 1TrikZB. Will you be at Chris's garage?

peace,

Re: My YSR 200 4 Stroke build!

I'll try to get some pictures in the next couple of days. It's on my dirt bike trailer in the garage for the winter (I live in London, Ontario). We got a total of eight feet of snow this winter so it will probably be a while before I get to ride again. The bike is a ysr80 that nsr wheels on it when I bought it a couple of years ago from a guy who brought it over from japan. From what I can tell it has nsr swing arm, nsr front forks, ysr rear shock, custom made aluminum triple clamps, and the cool japan spec rear tail light and signals. Oh and I found that a speedometer from an older fz600 works accurately on the ysr in case you wanted to know how fast you are going beyond 50mph.

Re: My YSR 200 4 Stroke build!

Man i dont know how people live in the snow! AH, i have to have the year round riding in FL. The speedo pick up for the nsr is SUPER expensive! Id like to see the tripple set up and forks. Sounds cool. I will eventually go to NSR forks just not sure how ill do it.

Re: My YSR 200 4 Stroke build!

Shawn, I took a couple of pictures of my bike. Sorry they aren't the best pictures but the bike is on a trailer in my garage and the pictures were taken with my phone. I couldn't figure out how you put your pictures onto the screen so I put mine in as attachments.

Re: My YSR 200 4 Stroke build!

It exited out of the right side stock, i wanted to go left for the undertail. I wouldent have had any room on the right (carb was in the way).
Moch up.

Re: My YSR 200 4 Stroke build!

I have about 6in more to go. It will be done this weekend. Hopefully running. I got my NSR front rotor also. I need to make a bracket because the NSR rotors diameter is bigger than the YSR so i need to space the caliper futher out. It looks like in the pictures that the head pipe will hit the tire but its not even close.

When you get that thing running you will have to post a you tube clip of it! I bet it will sound bad ass! Cool design going around the frame with the exhaust.

Re: My YSR 200 4 Stroke build!

Shawn, the reason I asked about the rear sprocket earlier is because I was looking at the dirt bike earlier this winter and thinking about a similar build as you have going on. When I googled to see if anyone had done it I found your build. Perfect timing! I thought I would have to send a sprocket out to the machine shop and have it machined to fit the nsr wheel. My wife said that I have to finish the project that I am working on before I can start a new one. I am doing a frame up on my old fz600 so that my wife has a bike to ride this summer (I won't let her ride my baby). Almost done though, just the plastic work left to paint and a few other small things before I can start my build. Watching your build makes it hard not to go into the garage and make the sparks fly!

Re: My YSR 200 4 Stroke build!

Good luck on your build(s)! Man.... im tring to get this thing done. Its my crack for sure. Just the whole buld is crazy. Im so far in to this thing i really have to plan my steps because i have nothing to go by. Started off by just wanting to swap a xr200 motor in and thats all and spen about $1,800. Boy was i in for a trip. I really dont want to say what i have into it..... Im not proud of the money i have into it, the even worse part is i get everything at cost or got a really good deal or made it myself. Exapmle (prob have close to $350+ in hardware!) Funny thing is, i think i have googled every thing about, zb50s, nsr/f, ysr. I keep finding my stuff. Sprocket specialist can make you (just) about any sprockets you want.
Stay tuned.....
