Re: My YSR 200 4 Stroke build!

My wife (soon to be) can kiss my ass, she knows not to even step foot in the man cave (the garage). But she also buys stupid girl things, so i never give her a hard time about her stuff.

I cant stop! I ordered a Carbon fiber tank! I should have it in a few weeks.

Re: My YSR 200 4 Stroke build!

It's maddening to a point. I wanted to start off with a street 50 and now am ending up wanting to buy every after market part available on the planet. And the sad part is, I really do have to scour the planet for parts.

Maybe it's the whole you can't have so I must have it syndrome with me. The parts are in Japan and they say I can't have it so it makes me more determined to find a way to get it. LOL

"They tell me they are only in japan" so i make it. Or the most common one is "they use to make it".

Re: My YSR 200 4 Stroke build!

OK, update... Due to my fiance taking her camera for a trip, i dont have any pics . How dare she take HER camera from me and not allow me to take pics! LOL
I got a set of clip-ons ($60), and a triple clamp ($15!!! ). WOW what a difference! I also hacked up my front fender to get my fork brace to fit right. You wouldnt notice if i didnt tell you. All in all looks good! I have a Carbon fiber tank on the way also. Should have it in a few weeks. I also found a guy who makes and sells steering dampeners for $150 and they are actually really nice. Almost exactly like the daytona, So i picked up one of those. Pics soon.....

Who makes the CF tank? And what brand clip ons did you get?

Sounds like some cool bling/parts.

Re: My YSR 200 4 Stroke build!

The company that makes the tank is mini moto maddness. The tank is Carbon not an overlay, its the real deal. They use billet mounts for the fuel valve and filler cap. I picked up the clip-on used, i think TRC makes them (much more comfertable!), The billet triple, iv never seen before. But it looks like quality work. I cant tell you enough how much the second spring, fork brace, triple clamp, and the clip-ons help.

Re: My YSR 200 4 Stroke build!

Does this mean you aren't going to put upside down cartridge forks on it? Or is that still a future possibility? Just wondering because I want to skip the NSR stage and just make a set of those... Also what do you think of Airtech's "Works" lower Fairing? I was thinking of getting the double round upper with that lower in about a month. If not I may go to my uncle and make custom 1098 fairing replicas... He loves that stuff but he would still charge me for his time to make them (a reduced rate of course)... still expensive none the less

Oh also I checked my registration and found out that mine does not show my cc size.
It does have an engine number listed though. I may just punch some new numbers in a more conspicuous place and let the officer assume they are the numbers if one ever checks.

Re: My YSR 200 4 Stroke build!

"Does this mean you aren't going to put upside down cartridge forks on it?" Probally not, reason my fron end is ultra solid, unless i went went with and REALLY nices set of forks ill just keep these. My Next YSR ill try to hunt done a set of RS125 inverted forks. I just have too much money in my front end right now.

"Also what do you think of Airtech's......" Air-tech makes really nice bodies, they just take awhile to make.

"If not I may go to my uncle and make custom 1098 fairing replicas..." Sounds intence...... people keep saying they are going to "make" there own bodies, yet to see anyone produce, I belive its harder than it looks.

Re: My YSR 200 4 Stroke build!

My uncle actually built 2 side cover plates from scratch using fiberglass for my Dads 1971 cb750 when he brought it back to life after sitting for years. The originals were gone and he couldnt find any new ones made of fiberglass... They turned out great. He is a whiz at making random crap out of fiberglass and has even done some movie cars. I don't doubt his ability, I just don't want to pay too much. And yes it is harder than it looks.
Hope to see that tank soon!

Re: My YSR 200 4 Stroke build!

Lookin good! I found someone local who can fiberglass my headlight holes for me. I'm excited trying to come up with different ideas right now.

And your Honda wrist band will only throw more confusion to the folks trying to figure out if it's and NSR or a YSR or not. LOL

Re: My YSR 200 4 Stroke build!

The clutch and master set up is from a 05 ZX10. The master set up wont be on there long. I have a brembo folding set up with the right boar for the single brake to install. If you are considering aftermarket clip-ons for your YSR i highly recommend it. Much more comfortable.
