Re: My YSR 200 4 Stroke build!

Thanks guys! Wasnt sure if people were going to like the light. No the "scoop" was allready there, so i has plenty of room for mounting (woulnd have made it if it wasnt there). Hardest part was finding a light small (and bright) enough to fit. Went with a 2"X2 1/4" 55W PIAA fog light. And ill have to say its plenty bright.

"Shawn, are you resubmitting this for Mid-size of the month?"
Think i should for next month? I have a few more nice bits to put on. My buddy can do professional photos. I just cant hang with all the MXers.

Re: My YSR 200 4 Stroke build!

I think you resubmit for mid of the month, you definitely need to post a before and after picture as well as a stock YSR picture for comparison just to help put it into perspective for the rest of the guys who aren't familiar with all of the work that went into this beast.

Hey Shawn, Just wanted to give you props on a killer build. I love seeing other guys out there with the same sickness that I have. It is cool to see some more mini sport bikes in the mix.

No doubt Shawn, I'll admit that at first I was doubting your choice of colors because I was not following along closely enough. It looks way killer.

Re: My YSR 200 4 Stroke build!

BTW i got adj. clip-ons and a billet tripple clamp today. I also won a TCR rear stand on E-bay for $26! What a deal!

Thanks guys for ALL of your support/help on this project, it has been a huge factor in having the will to finish this beast. Hopefully i can do a few here and theres and be done, (at least thats what i tell myself).

The next project will be another YSR, I want to cut the neck off of a frame and build a custom tube (ducati style) frame. I belive the mothor will be a (like to have) a 08 Suzuki RM450 (fuel injected) motor. My roomate happen to have his motor out of his RM450 and it was smaller in size to the XR200. Or someting of that nature. Sounds intense and i know i have the "know how". This will be a more of a long term project. Im actually amazed i built this thing as quick as i did (7 months). Im still not done with this one yet and will be working on a pretty good video soon. Any suggestions on what to film?

Re: My YSR 200 4 Stroke build!

ahaha my budget was a g. I was actually really close when the bike was first ridable, now I am at like almost 2000 and just getting started with the street legal conversion (as a street bike not a moped). I think I am doing pretty good tho, hope to have it done including a couple one off cnc'ed parts fora little over 2500. I need to update my cost list.

The next project sounds intense with the Duc style frame.

I'm sure this thread will get a lot of reads even after you've finished your next project. Lots of good info here.

Re: My YSR 200 4 Stroke build!

Shawn,

Do mind posting up close up pix of your fairing (upper, lower and tail section)mounting points?

In case others find a set of RS fairings to install on their YSR, so that they'll have a concept and a reference

I just can't say it enough, a beautiful job and bike!

Re: My YSR 200 4 Stroke build!

Yeah, ill snap some pics, but for the most part the upper/lower was easy. I used the origanl side mounts and made a uppper support (no big deal). The tail........ was a pain in the @$$. I wish i would have thought about taking pics of it off. I had the body off monday to paint the inside black. Ill see what i can do.

I don't even want to think about how much I poured into my Yerbicati (recently sold) *cries laughing* However, if some of you had read some of my posts just prior to, i was contiplating replacing the Derbi/Metrakit motor with a 4-stroker. And what did I do?!? I bought a Honda CBR150r (4*-stroker). That was a huge lift off my shoulders. Or shall I say, wallet .....LOL
Which then prompted the sale of the YSR/Derbi/Metrakit/Ducati = Yerbicati.

Otoh, I still have a YSR in parts and am debating what to do with it. And then there is streeting the 04 NSR.........faaaaaaaaaaack! Will this sickness ever end?!?!?!
