| Mendota is a "race only" track that generally races every other weekend with pit bike races on selected events, this week being the first pit bike race of the year. The pit bike race on the big bike track. Fox Valley Offroad is a riding park that has occasional harescramble races. You can ride in the woods or on their mx track. Info for both can be found at megacross.com Joliet MX is closer to Chicago and races on opposite weekends of Mendota with pit bike races every race night. The pit bikes race on a seperate pit bike track. Once the pit bike race is over the racers can practice on the pit bike track for the rest of the evening. Joliet is also a practice track on Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday evenings from 5 - 9PM. Weekend practice is Sundays from 10:30 - 3:00PM and non-race Saturdays from 10:30 - 3:00PM. There are 3 track - pit bike track, stadium track (both under lights) and motocross track. Info at Joliet Motor Sports Hit them all, they are all fun! | Re: Attn: Illinois Riders.... I have never been to KI tracks. Another option is Buffalo Range in Ottawa. They are a riding park with woods and multiple tracks. There are two tracks that are pit bike friendly, one is really a kids track and the other is a little more agressive. You could take a few laps on the big MX track but you would be in the way of the big bikes. Woods riding on a pit bike is great there but I heard that they stopped letting small bikes ride in the woods this year. You need to call to confirm. Their web site is Buffalorangeriding park.com I don't know of any other pit bike friendly places to ride. |
