No, I had a 108, and there was a 124se and a tb117. Doesn't really matter though, a good rider on an 88 would probably be competitive.

Ive only raced my fifty at two tracks, Joliet last weekend and casey (lincoln trail motorsports) last two years. Joliet's track was much better - way more technical but still a lot of fun to ride. I thought they did a pretty good job of putting on the races. I would get there early though because they said signup went until 5:00 - It did but there was a long line at 5 and practice started at 5. They did give us two practices though so it was ok. As far as I can tell this is the only place in the area to race besides mendota which doesn't have anything until later this summer - so you guys that say it sucked or whatever - where do you guys go? I'm just looking for a good place to race and so far this is the best I've found.

Re: Attn: Illinois Riders....

I went with the gf and watched the opening night at joliet. Wish my bike was done but dealing with bs putting on my sik tend 65 rear brake kit. I have to order some more parts this weekend. Hopefully I will make it out there soon to ride and race.

I want to ride the big bike track on my 110 also since most of the jumps look doable and the pitbike track is sweet though since you can practice the rest of the night. A year or two ago I went and the full size mx track had some crazy jumps but this year its very easy which I like since there is not too many doubles or etc.

One guy had a a bbr framed 50 and a bbr framed 110 both with monster graphics. Man wish I had money like that since they were sweet bikes.

What they need is some money races going on or some big mini race there for sure.

Will have to meet up with you guys up there sometime. I will let you know when my bike is ready and when I will be going. I only live like 25 minutes away so its awesome.

Re: Attn: Illinois Riders....

I'm planning to get a series going this fall, but some tracks want us to run a race on the same day as big bikes so they can see how many local riders we can get. So it's looking like we are shooting for June 1 or June 22 at tri city. We would probably only run a 10" and 12" class, and it would be during intermission, but we need to get riders there to show them that we won't have a problem getting riders for a pit bike only day. So if your interested let me know and I can contact you with more info. We will have all the info may 7.

Joliet has pitbike racing on their Saturday night race nights, which is typically every other weekend (check their site for the schedule). There is a race this weekend.

From what I have seen over the past 3 years in the Chicagoland area, big bike racers and pitbike racers are not the same people. The big bike guys are focused on their races and don't seem interested in entering a pitbike race during a big bike race day/night. In fact the big bike guys are typically chasing track or district points so they won't do anything that takes away from that. Your pitbike series will need to rely on only those that ride pitbikes.

Yea same here, tri city had a pit bike series a couple years ago on big bike days and would get like 10-20 riders. But they want us to do a race on the same day and see how many we can get before they let us do races with no big bikes. I'm hoping we can get about 25-30 riders for this one.

When you plan on running this event? If you plan on running it on a seperate date than big bikes you better hope for more than 25-30 riders(insurance costs)

Re: Attn: Illinois Riders....

carter buzz, if tri city does a pit bike race, are they going to have a mini track or run it on the big bike track? Do any tracks have open practice for 50's like tri city or muddy waters?

We are looking on doing this either june 1 or june 22. If we get around 25-30 riders we can do a series this fall with only pit bikes and lots of classes. I would expect about 50 riders at a pit bike only day and most people would race 2 classes, so about 100 entries.

We haven't talked to them about details yet, were meeting with them May 7th. We would most likely do most of the big track. Then in the series this fall we would do all the big track. No one has anything set up for actual pitbike practices, but if you become a member at tri city (like $200) you get a key and can go whenever you want.
