There is a 110 size class and a 50 size class. If needed the classes are run together but scored separately

The race is two moto's of 5 laps each. In the past the Mendota race has been 3 laps, sometimes 4 laps.

Pit bike racing starts between 6:00 - 6:30 and is done within an hour or so. After the racing is finished you can either go watch the big bikes race on the Stadium track or you can practice on the pit bike track all night long. So not only do you get to race but you get to practice afterwards. The owner of JMX is really into to pit bikes so he supports them in a big way.

There is one more option to race pit bikes. JMX has a Stadium track class called Mini-4 Stroke, which allows any 4 stroke up to 150cc. I have seen little pit bikes completely smoke Honda CRF150's in this class. This season the Stadium track has been changed to all table tops so this class will be fun for pit bikes.

Sorry for the long post but I was at the track last night and it was a blast. More people need to come out and enjoy.

Joliet Motor Sports

Thats on the lil track off to the side right???? not the main track... Last time i was there that was like a gloified Pee wee track.. Do they not race 110's on the main tack besides the Mini 4stroke?

Re: Attn: Illinois Riders....

It is the small track, it's scaled for pitbikes. Both 110's and 50's race on the track. When was the last time you rode it? The track changed last year and again slightly this year. The racing can get pretty competitive so you should give it a try.

Here is another way to look at it.
$10.00 entry fee
No pit pass entry fee
$25.00 to race
Around 15 minutes of practice
5 lap heat race
5 lap main
Racing finished by 7:30 (at the latest)
Open ride from 7:30 to at least 11:00

Re: Attn: Illinois Riders....

Typically you do have to be an AMA member to ride or race at racks. So I assume you do but I am not positive.

The after race "open ride" is a perk for the ones that race so no you can't ride if you didn't race.

Re: Attn: Illinois Riders....

Went to Joliet last night and had a lot of fun. There were about 13 guys that raced, 3 in the 10" class and the rest midsize. Im definetely going back - all you guys with fifties need to come check it out, I need some slower guys that I can beat! That and a clutch and a perimeter frame and I might actually win...

Re: Attn: Illinois Riders....

BigBoreCRF - the ability to ride after the race made it worth the long drive didn't it? I don't know of any other track that allows that.

I also noticed that a pit bike class was made available for the big stadium track. It wasn't advertised so nobody entered. I know that if people enter it the class will run.

Re: Attn: Illinois Riders....

Yeah, being able to ride afterwards was great. Im standing here at work today and can hardly move because I'm so damn sore. I guess the first hard ride of the season will do that to you. It was fun though, I'll be at the next one and hopefully I'll bring a few more guys with fifties.

Re: Attn: Illinois Riders....

I woke up at 4:30 the next morning to take my son to race at Byron and I was so sore I tried to talk him out of going.

I rode like crap, I came in 3rd (if you count backwards), so there was no gain from the pain. But I did have fun.

Do you know anyone that has a decent used, oversizse 50 frame for sale? I need to replace the frame on my kids pit bike, he wore out where the swing arm pivots.

Re: Attn: Illinois Riders....

I might have a stock frame for sale in a month or two, but I don't know of anything at the moment.

I would go then... that small track wouldn't be fun on my 110!

You really need to give it a try on your 110. Most of the bikes are built 110's with 138's, 160's and 190's.

Re: Attn: Illinois Riders....

They ran two classes when I was there - 10" rear and 12". Other than that, there wern't any rules. Those classes raced on the mini track, and I think they might be running a different class on the big track, but I'm not sure about that.
