| Re: best way to wheelie I started by practicing in first. Could go maybe thirty feet. I read on here to try in second, and I could go much further, which encouraged me to keep practicing. It's easiest for me to kind of lock my arms back. In order to keep the bike going straight, you kind of bump the tank with your knees. Start by trying this: Get going in like second gear and take your hands off the bars. Keep the bike going straight by bumping the tank with your knees. Once you can do this, wheelies will be easy. Now get going in second gear. Here's where you have to concentrate: Keep that right foot on the peg. Do not bring it off the peg for any reason no matter what! Give it quite a bit of gas and bring it down. Try to wheelie WAY up there, then hit the brake to bring it back. This is what taught me to avoid looping it out. Soon you'll be able to do wheelies. I started improving big time when I started keeping my arms pretty much locked out and steering with my knees. Also don't be choppy on the throttle: Give as little input as necessary. LOL I know its an old thread but it will help people. |

| Re: best way to wheelie my brother always says the best way to learn to wheelie is up hill. personally i perfer flat ground, and I actually find it easier to go slightly downhill. i guess it depends on the person. |
