header wrap is a good idea i like it but it burns still just not as bad as straight pipe to the leg

Riding it hard can make it red as well, but that means HARD!

I'd also suggest going richer.

i agree with him. ive heard the same thing and my 07 150 does that when i race at night adn i warm it up on the line. just does it when it idles then when it gets air too it its fine. and mine has 65 hrs on it adn its still fine...knock on wood.

Well I've been building and tuning engines for over 34 years and it's well known that a red glow is normal and indicates that the engine is tuned in the safe zone (on the edge where max power is at) ..... if the pipe starts to go a shade of orange THEN it's definitely too lean and the brighter it gets ... the leaner it is ...

You guys are comparing Idling engines to revved up F1 engines the f1 will ofcourse glow they are revving them out. I have owned 3 new 4 strokes since 04 and none of mine have glowed red while idling and they all have TI pipes on them. 2004 KX250f 06 KX450F and also an 08 RMZ 250. They should glow if you are revving them up but just idling means someones letting his engine life idle away. Your new 4 strokes should overheat from sitting and not having air passing through the radiators before that pipe turns red. Im not saying anyone is to lean or too rich.
