Re: Glowing Red crf150r Pipe It will not glow when you are riding. The air that's moving by prevents this. If it is - post videos to prove me wrong. It will glow when you let the bike sit and idle.

Re: Glowing Red crf150r Pipe lol take a video at night of one of your bikes running, and rev it a few times to simulate riding it. The header should glow on these machines, its not the least bit abnormal, it is normal. That is, on the crf150r, 250f's and 450f's.

Re: Glowing Red crf150r Pipe I still say a properly jetted bike wont glow. id rather not chance a lean condition to see some red

Re: Glowing Red crf150r Pipe You can't honestly be serious. You are actually going to argue with a first hand owner and a daily mech and tech personel on these motors? The air moving by doesnt prevent this. The larger radiator and fan on my quad doesnt even prevent this. It is definitely a normal thing with these motors. The klx110 shouldnt do it because the header on any aftermarket exhaust for the 110 is substantially thicker than the header of the 150r 250f or 450f. And any of the three motors mentioned above have much higher running temperatures.

Re: Glowing Red crf150r Pipe last time iv checked its normal for any bike sitting stationary for the pipe to get red hot even if it is jetted correctly. If you could look under your hood while driving your car you would see that your exhaust manifolds are red hot, some cats under cars turn red hot if they are plugged up too. I'm sure a lean bike compared to a rich bike would turn red hot faster. When i rip my 1968 ct90 with a lifan 107 motor in it at night it glows red.

Can you explain this to me. I used to own an 06 YZ250f. Ti header came stock on this model. Like anyone else; I would let the engine warm up to change the oil. If I did not have a fan (not your typical house fan either..) blowing on the bottom sides of the right radiator / header area; the header would start to turn red. When the fan was blowing on it; there wasn't a single issue. Last edited by five21racing; 08-26-2008 at 09:04 PM. Reason: wrong wording | |
