It wasn't that close. It was like halfway between my butt and knee.

Re: Glowing Red crf150r Pipe

On every one of the 4 stroke single cylinder race bikes these days, the thin header material, the extremely high compression for a factory gas engine, and the serious amount of fuel and air being packed into that cylinder to be compressed and exploded is what makes running temperatures so normally high for these motors. My yfz450 with a yz450f crank and top end glows red and it is not running lean nor rich. Tuned perfectly to burn 100% clean on the plug without residue on a 12.5:1 wiseco piston and 93 pump. When my motor was stock and it had the stock Ti headpipe on there it still glowed red at night. With my Sparks full system with a ceramic coated header it still glows. Along with my tc racing header which is the same material as stock. these motors use very thin material as stated earlier for the exhaust piping. Since these motors are creating an explosion so fast with their Big bore-Short stroke technology, it is constant excessive heat, which is normal for these motors because they are built to withstand and run normal at those temps. Your motor is fine, EVERY 150r, 250f, and 450f is going to have a noticeably glowing header at night. Havent seen one that doesnt. Even an ltr450 with the properly tuned ECU for the proper a/f mixture has the header glowing just as much as any other 450, lol.

Re: Glowing Red crf150r Pipe

Ummm...Mine doesnt^^^None of my four strokes do. Full mod klx110, honda crf150r, and suzuki RMZ250. I've turned all of them on at night and none glow. And nothing can be wrong because they are all perfectly tuned and run fine on the track...But no red glow...Hmmmm???
