when i was their age pitbikes were only allowed in the pits and would be swallowed by the ruts and berms we negotiated on fullsize race bikes either way get what you want, ride it, enjoy it and enjoy life to the fullest as it's gone and over all too quickly.. if you plan on racing it or whatever bike you get , check the rules before hand to make sure you get a bike that is legal for the class you want to race... but since you want to just ride with your kid, get what you feel comfy on and think you'll enjoy riding i do have to say i feel sorry for mertensmx365 for having to be trapped with people his age that are all too simple minded, while he has at least a good understanding of "fun" and what biking is all about "enjoying yourself"..... I have to say i'm impressed that for 13-14 he's not fallen into saying what everyone else says to be "cool" and this thread is amusing as hell.. i thought this was the longer one that started a while back that went way outof hand what do you get when you have a minibike board with 13,465 members? .... 465 intelligent people that are surrounded by 13,000 idiot kids that all think they are hot sh!t, but have no idea what idiots they make themselves look like by trying to be cool if you take offense to this and feel like argueing about it...guess what.. you're one of the 13,000 idiots i'm talking about

| Re: Any adults riding the 150r In Michigan I ride my friends 1.2 mile open terrain track that we built to ride anything from a stock 50 to a full blown 450MX bike on.......... Anyhow there are a couple cats that ride on a CRF150F and CRF150R expert. Yes they are play bikes for adults and the R is a race bike for kids. Man are they fun to ride. For only 3-4 gs and they are Hondas. I can't see how you could go wrong buying one of these to 'play on'! The CRF150F has street tires on it. The CRF150R has knobbies. Both are seriously fun to ride. Both bikes will be at click here--> HOME today, the R will have 17" ultra soft slicks for supermotarding......... We had a killer dirt machine out there saturday and today for rebuilding some jumps and changing it up so its even better. Ride Red |

People make me laugh So a KLX 110 with a 160 KIT, BBR frame, Zokks, swinger, pipe etc etc is a pit bike but not a CRF150R? What’s the difference? A little bigger frame? I would not call either a Pit bike but they are MINI’S. I had a KLX 110 modded (below) and I sold it. WHY? Because I had $4000 into it and I was going to put another $1000 into the motor. Even though I did the KX60 forks and the Sik 110 swinger it still had a harsh ride so I was looking at the BBR Frame. Enough is enough. You can get into a CRF150R used for $3000. Buy heavy springs and your done. It’s the perfect play bike. It has everything you are going to put into a 110 but its STOCK. How can you beat that??? Fag ![]()

| Re: Any adults riding the 150r I'd like a CRF150R for myself. That bad? Any idea if they blow up easily? I'd think they're not really built to last long, but am curious to hear from adults who have been railing on them.

| Re: Any adults riding the 150r you realize that if there was a class for the 150R's you would get some of us kids that race the yoot class on them and it would be unfair cz some kids actually race them. |

| Re: Any adults riding the 150r My wife has one and I try and ride it a decent amount. I think it would be a fun class if there was a minimum age of 25 or 30 for the class. Like someone else stated, the nice part about the 150r's is you can get onto tracks to get some time in. Where as with my 10" setup I get run over half the time I try. |

| Re: Any adults riding the 150r I think a 25-30 age group would not be that great. Devide it between adults and youth, not a spacific age group. Like stated above, there would need to be enough riders to warrent splitting the class anyway. |

Sorry I meant 25 and over OR 30 and over age group. Meaning didn't know where would be good to split the age.

| Re: Any adults riding the 150r I haven't even read this thread in awhile... But what I meant as far as the 150R being too small for big tracks-- is that it gets caught up in deep ruts way more than my 250 does, and I feel more comfortable riding my big bike on a wide open MX track. As far as indoor winter tracks go-- this is the bike that I grab out of the garage for that, as my 250 seems too big for indoors. One thing that I like about the 150R, is that when I go to ride days and such at pitbike tracks-- I'd rather whoop the stock 150R than my super expensive KLX110. Not only that, but it's less cramped when you're going to be on it all day. I like to save the 110 for the pitbike races. I'm thinking about getting a KX65 to goof off on too. All it'll need is a set of fork springs, and an Ohlins shock out back. Then it'll be done. Faster and cheaper than a 110 build. I've often wondered why they won't have a class for it at the pitbike races. Personally-- if it's a bike that's fun, why not ride it? Who cares who Honda designed it for? Honda knew that there would be some adults that would buy it. They're not oblivious to the whole adults on minibikes scene. L*64 |
