Geof's bike is something that i really see just in pictures...

here in italy there are a bunch of CRF50, maybe 1 TTR50 saw for real...

but i never saw any zukis neither in that awsome shape!

Re: FOTM September 2008

Thanks for all the votes.

I first saw the suzuki at The Dirt Bike Show and knew then I wanted one.

It took a while to get hold of one and source all the parts. After a few modifications it all came together quite well I thought...seems to sit correctly and rides well.

I wanted a "proper" mini bike - ie a little one that was adult-proof.

Having built many Honda's over the years, I thought it was time to turn my thoughts to something a little different.

I am glad a lot of you think it worthy.

Cheers

Re: FOTM September 2008

Geof,

You need to get back in and spice up the Monkey Scene.

Additionally, can all the PM members go over to Adrenilinetrip, register and flood the voting for the contests in the UK? Lots of votes from noob limey members in the polls!

MiniBike Pits Mine and Geof's Bikes are up for FOTM this month on Planet Minis

Re: FOTM September 2008

Hey Z - I might just do that

Been a while since I built a nice road-going Monkey. I was half way through building a Z50M with a Taky twincam before i set my heart on building a trick DR-Z70

As for the limey votes....If it annoys anyone perhaps you ought to make it so newbies can't vote in FOTM

It is the first time I have considered entering a bike I have built into FOTM...but hey if it has ruffled a few feathers then great!

Perhaps it will mean a few of you lot will see the UK scene ain't too far behind in the Mini Bike building stakes!

Re: FOTM September 2008

my perception is that the uk has the mini scene locked down.
helps to have a strong euro compared to usd too.

great build none the less

I hope you all like it, I wanted to build an adult-proof little one with the feel of a stock CRF50.

Having let a few people ride it as well as myself the considered opinion is that I have achieved that. Keeping the engine stock means the bike is a little under-powered to what I am normally used to...but it does mean you can keep it pinned in most places!

To the best of my knowledge it is the first tricked up DRZ70 in the UK.

Suzuki DRZ70 specification list:

Brand New Canadian Specification Suzuki DRZ70 in Yellow sent to UK
Black Suzuki Plastics
Spare seat modified with high seat foam and gripper seat cover

DP-Brakes Brake Shoes
Modified/Machined Brake Arm
FASTWAY Evo Footrests - modified to suit
Two Brothers M6 Exhaust Pipe
Two Brothers Graphics/Decals
Billet Alloy Vented Petrol breather

PRO TAPER Mini Racer Raw Handle Bars
FAST50's Billet Alloy Throttle with Perch
