Re: r6 or r1? I'm on a Suzuki card right now with HSBC as the finance company and it still requires full coverage insurance. I have no idea how you pulled it off. Either way, my scoot is new so I prefer the full coverage anyway. And I'll be refinancing before the rate goes up.

Re: r6 or r1? Depends, You could be on a closed end account, When did you buy this bike? I bought a kawasaki mean streak last may. It was the same as always. Unless they have just recently made the change.

Re: r6 or r1? Yeah, you're not joking....even at my age it's retarded. But then again, it's mostly because of retards it's so outrageous. I have every type of coverage imaginable, with higher than min. limits and it's only about $300 a year.

Re: r6 or r1? I'm a little late on this thread, but i'd say get the R1, i have one myself(05), and the thing is a rocket. Depending on what you want it for, an R6 will be great for the track, the newer faster R6 i'd say is solely track bike, because revs to the moon. The newer R1s down low aren't as powerful as a gixxer 1000, but up top, it takes off like a rocket. You will leave 600s behind very easy. And it's pretty good in the corners, i'm no pro, but i do ride quick in the corners, and high speed sweepers you'll leave alot of ppl behind too. Hope that helps.

Re: r6 or r1? I've ridden Sportsters for a while, and took my first rip on an '02 CBR600RR. Powerband was amazing, and definitely was a white knuckle ride. Didn't kick in until 8K, but pulled like a mule up to 15.5K. Shifted out of first gear at 71 mph. If you get the 600, I think you'll be happy. Respect the power and try not to get bitten by the cement. Remember - STUPID HURTS DAVE

Re: r6 or r1? Oh please....haha compare the 03 R6 and the 08 XB12R. The R6 is lighter, by about 40 lbs, has right at the same HP and a much better power/weight ratio. Not to mention that it is a much better looking bike. About the only thing Buell is better on is fuel economy. Don't even think about comparing a Buell to the R1. I've actually ridden both of those bikes. I would say go for the newer bike simply because you don't want something that could end up causing you too many problems in the near future. You can always grow into the R1; thats what I had to do. Do you need a liter bike? Probably not...but overall its going to be a better bike.
