That's what I am saying, to get someone to become the "AMA" of pitbike racing. I do not believe the PBRA and who it is run by is the right choice. I also agree the AMA will not be getting it done anytime soon, but I also believe the PBRA is not really in it for the right reasons. This is from the previous association that was created NNRA (national night racing association). I believe a group like MOM would be better suited for coming up with guidelines and rules for national level pitbikes. They have run a large amount of races, the PBRA has never run a high level pitbike race. Last edited by 61stepdad; 03-03-2008 at 07:40 AM.

| Re: Attn: National Pit Bike Rules if everyone would stop being so sensitive about classes and be happy with only a couple classes(ex. 50 stock 50 mod, midsize stock midsize mod) then it could have happened by now. Trying to make classes like "fatboy" "30+" an ama class just makes it harder. We need to remember that it is a honor that they will have classes for us and we dont need to make it more complicated for them! Afterall this is a very small sport/hobby! |

the fatBoy (started out here in Mass) and 30+ Senior Classes have huge turnouts for the past 5 years and give the Bigger guys and the older Riders an incentive to come out and race. From what I was told yesterday By Andre' the PBRA approaches tracks that have not offered Pit Bike events Before as well as Track promoters that host events.... whats important here is Ridership and promotion of the Industry with Pit bikes. Next time someone complains about no where to ride.... Think about this!!!

There are a very large number of people associated with the PBRA. The NNRA has not created this association, nor is the person that created the NNRA. All parties involved in the PBRA are in it for the right reasons. They are trying to better the sport and give riders across the nation more places to ride and race without having to modify their bike or completely change their bikes every time they go to a diff race. When something is new, there will always be a select few people who disagree with it and that is ok. Everyone has a different opinion of what things should be like. IMO the PBRA is taking in all the information that riders have been emailing them with to better the association. Will it happen overnight? Probably not, it probably takes a few days to get everyone on the same page. Will it happen eventually if the request is reasonable to make the members happy? Almost guaranteed - IMO. I would assume the PBRA has never run a high level pit bike race, simply for the fact the PBRA has never sanctioned a pit bike race before. Pamela

| Re: Attn: National Pit Bike Rules Thanks Kevin, ya as I said to you yesterday, a good example is here in MO, I approach tracks here for our series and they got so excited about it that they can work with us, that they are going to build special pit bike tracks for us to ride on with starting gates and all, i or 2 said that they would even consider putting in lights for 2009 so that we can have night races too. We are going to see a big growing spurt in the sport, if people can just stand together and help each other and the sport out. We can help the tracks and the vendors at the same time and that will help for our sport to grow and not die off like some said, so it is upto every individual to decide, does he want a place and series to ride that investment he make in his bike, equipment or does he want it to rot in his garage. I think mI would like to see the sport grow, just like it is growing in Europe and other places around the world, we will get more people into racing for way cheaper then big bikes, and more parents would be able for their kids to race. |
